"Lovely and charming hotel. Our room was beautiful and the view and location is 5 stars all the way! The breakfast staff were a little snooty but the rest were absolutely wonderful. Be sure to go into the cute town of Kilmare nearby. I would have spent more time there if I’d known about it."
"For property that was opened up in the 1800s, there are modern conveniences and amenities. Location is perfect, the staff is friendly and nice, and the spa is over the top. The building is very old, but everything else gets an A+ plus. there was a concert of instrumental musicians in the lobby on the night that I arrived, which was extraordinary."

"A lovely stay - wish I'd had more time there. Loved the cosy reception area with the open fires, esp since it was lashing rain outside. Room very comfortable and quiet with soft lighting and black out curtains."
"Incredible hotel and wonderful staff! Beautiful evening at their restaurant as well as the food was excellent.
Only frustration is that our room did not have air conditioning. Only some rooms have AC but our door opened which allowed plenty of air flow from outside."
Shelburne Lodge, Georgian House, Garden, Parking, 5 min Walk from Kenmare Town
10/10 Excellent
"Great experience - we loved it! We had 13 adults and two infants at Shelburne Lodge for a family reunion in July. We found this to be a great location for day trips across southwestern Ireland - and only about 500 yards down the sidewalk to the downtown pubs and shops of Kenmare. It is also convenient to grocery stores and a pharmacy. The lodge is a remarkable historic structure, accurately depicted in the photos on the VRBO website. There were plenty of bedrooms and baths to accomodate everyone - and all were first class with en suite baths. We had plenty of room to hang out in the two large sitting rooms, the office, and the dining room/bar area. With wonderful weather, we ended up dining out on the patio almost every evening where there are two nice dining tables with umbrellas, 10 comfortable outdoor chairs and 10 stools. There is a big working kitchen with gas cooktop, gas and electric ovens, microwave, air fryer, etc. and two large refrigerators. In addition, there is a large (8-burner) gas grill that we used quite a bit. We found the house to be well maintained and well-stocked with all the things one might need. The grounds were also a nice surprise, with flowers, apple trees and a fenced pitch where the kids could play. There are also several magnificent trees that one would be hard pressed to find anywhere else.Highly recommend it. "
"My experience of the Hotel was great Michelle and Liam were fantastic nothing was to much trouble, the Hotels location and the grounds were incredible what a lovely place and a truly wonderful stay well done to all the staff "
"The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed using the pool before breakfast when it wasn't busy.
We felt there wasn't enough social space to sit and have a coffee and chat with other guests. There also seemed to be a problem with the courtyard bar which wasn't open during our stay."
