This Llyn Peninsula historic holiday cottage is a beautifully and distinctively restored 18th century longhouse, stylish and cosy, attached to an Elizabethan farmhouse, Hen Dy. The owners live in the nearby farmstead, an excellent source of local information. Decor and furnishings throughout are an eclectic mixture of Scandinavian, French and Welsh influences. Warm, intimate living room with book-lined walls and a gallery and a large comfortable kitchen with Aga, cushioned wall seating and small sash windows. A trout stream meanders through the owner’s land and is ideal for fishing and there is a cycle track just 200 yards away.
Take a peaceful walk/cycle ride along the wide hard surfaced scenic pathway with views of Snowdonia and the Llyn mountains dramatically descending to the sea, which runs 100 yards from cottage, originally the railway track from Porthmadog down into Caernarfon, 12 miles. Criccieth, just 6 miles away, is overlooked by its medieval castle and has golden beaches, lots of good places to eat, a wide range of local amenities and not forgetting delicious ice creams.
