House was clean and well kept. Perfect for four adults and four children. Being that far out of town was part of the charm of the property which had beautiful views. Four wheel drive vehicle is definitely a must. Would definitely stay again if or when we return to the area!
Great proximity to the north gate at Yellowstone. Clean and well stocked. The shower head in the bathroom closest to the door did not function well, but all else was great.
We had an awesome time at "A Stay Above the Rest"! The house was just as described and had plenty of space for our group of 7 adults. We loved the mountain views and being close to town and Yellowstone entrance. The hosts were super helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Can't wait to stay here again on our next Yellowstone trip!
The property was beautiful with the best linens. Communication with the property manager were clear. While the view from the mountain was beautiful, the dirt road to access the home is scary if you aren’t used to driving up mountains. The horses across from the property also smelled a bit on windy days but overall a nice stay.

Our family loved staying here. It was cool to be out in the mountains with no one around. The house was in great condition and clean and felt wonderful to stay in. Like others have said, it was a little scary driving up to the place. We were a little worried later when it rained and lightly snowed, but everything was fine with 4x4 drive.
The house was very nice and exactly like the pictures! Amazing views while relaxing on the porch. Good amount of kitchen and household items. The only rating of a 4 is the location as property is a bit of a drive out of town and the road to property is quite rough, which was noted to us in advance. But would definitely stay there again.
This property feels like home! The view from the porch is unbeatable especially with a cup of coffee in hand! The home was so well stocked we lacked nothing and cooked a fantastic meal for 6 using the grill. Coffee pods, creamer sugar, spices, all the kitchen gear you could need. If we ever come back to Gardiner we would gladly stay again! Thanks for sharing your home with us.
In fact, we didn’t even see them. Road in a bit challenging—low-slung car might bottom out on last curve so rent a car with good clearance. Lovely, clean, well-appointed accommodations. Excellent , well/equipped kitchen and bathrooms and comfortable beds. Would definitely rent again.
The property was as pictured. It was very clean and very well stocked. It was great being in a remote location. Specimen Creek Outfitters has a location just out back. They offer hunting, horseback rides, and wilderness backpack trips. The guides are very friendly and knowledgeable. We took advantage and booked a horseback riding tour with Specimen Creek Outfitters. I would definitely come back here.
The balcony views were absolutely beautiful. The house was beautiful, and cleanly. The scary is having drive up up a mountain on a gravel road some spots with no guard rail. There is also a very sharp left turn into driveway might need to do a three point turn on a hill for 15 passenger van.
We had an amazing time at this property. Being able to see the Mammoth Hot Springs from the window was so special and the views of the creek and valley were stunning. We were a party of 8 and the house was perfect for us. I'd stay there again.
We enjoyed the views! The cool breezes at night were wonderful. Mimi and Papa slept downstairs with the grandkids in a summer camp style room- fun! We spotted Elk very trip up/down. Beds are comfy and house was clean!
The property was nice and well appointed. Very close to Yellowstone. The road to/from the property was a bit rough. I recommend adhering to the recommendation for all wheel drive. Communication with the host was excellent both before and during the stay. I have never had such prompt responses.
Cabin was absolutely fantastic! Address doesn’t come up on google maps so make you know where you are heading! Sharp left at the bottom of the driveway is indeed very sharp and roads could use some work but final destination was worth the trek up the mountains!
Overall a very nice place to chill. A few minor issues, more so with cleanliness. Property management was always quick to respond. Description does state there is a gravel road up to the cabin. Definitely need to take that into account if you are driving a car.
This cabin was perfect for our group of 6; plenty of room for everyone. The views are beyond stunning. We had a little trouble getting in, so don’t be like us and forget to write down the entry code before you start up the mountain! There is no cell service until you are hooked up to the cabin’s wifi. The hosts were VERY responsive and helpful. I had two voicemails from them before I could get cell service! I would highly recommend this cabin, I wish I was still there!
This home is a beautiful place to stay. We enjoyed our time there. The home is stocked nicely with all supplies needed to stay. The only reason I gave 4 stars is the drive to get there. It is only 5 miles from Gardiner but takes at minimum 20 minutes to reach the house. The gravel road is not well maintained. We visited in July so no worries about snow but we were driving a sprinter van and it was difficult to navigate the gravel road full of washboards. Had we been driving something different it would have been easier.
The house was well appointed and well maintained. I was surprised to find that the house did not have any air conditioning and when I checked in in July it was 76 or 77 in the house. It took a couple of hours of having the windows and doors wide open to cool down. After getting home from hiking at Yellowstone every day it took some time before the house cooled down. The house is located up a very long and steep switchback gravel road. I honestly thought I was lost when I was trying to find it. You absolutely must have four-wheel-drive to get to the house. It took us probably 25 minutes to get from the house to the north entrance of Yellowstone. As a bonus, there is a fantastic ranch next door with probably two dozen horses and two goats and a number of chicken and geese and turkeys and the owner is an absolute delight.
Nice property beautiful views, didn't have a very good check in tho couldnt get up road even in 4 wheel drive, had to all put chains on, then couldnt get to door until the guys shoveled 3 feet of snow to get to the entrance. One couple was unable to get up to property they stayed in town at motel. The guys enjoyed scoping out the windows and seeing all the game. We really wish we would have had some fire wood since there was a wood stove but no biggie. But when we called they tended to our problem immediately great gals.
