About this property
FIVE STAR CABIN ON YELLOWSTONE RIVER!!! THE GRIZZLY DEN CABIN on YNP Riverfront
The sound of the Yellowstone River lulls you to sleep while visions of trout dance at the end of your line...you wake up and it's not a dream-you are really there!!!
This wonderful and spacious cabin is right on the Yellowstone River, just minutes away from Yellowstone National Park and the Roosevelt Arch entry at the north entrance to YNP, and close to Mammoth Hot Springs, mountain biking and all the wildlife you can imagine.
The Grizzly Den Cabin on the Yellowstone Riverfront is self-contained with wilderness furnishings in the living area, crisp linens, towels, books, SMART TV (must have your own access codes for Netflix and the like). WIFI access, washer & dryer, a complete fully-stocked kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, range, regular coffeemaker, coffee and teas, spices and sauces, an outdoor gas grill and a wonderful covered patio for relaxing after a day of hiking, horseback riding or rafting on the Yellowstone River. Restaurants and local shopping are within ten minutes driving distance and Chico Hot Springs Spa & fine restaurant are a half hour away. Or just enjoy a BBQ on the patio, a marshmallow roast at the shared fire pit or a relaxing stroll down our rural (gravel) road, away from the noises of the city.
This Yellowstone cabin is a delightful place from which to navigate your Yellowstone National Park vacation, and you can even walk to the park directly from our driveway, only (approx) 1500 feet away. The Roosevelt Arch (North Entrance is 4.5 miles from the cabin). Access to the cabin is via a gravel road, maintained by Yellowstone National Park & Park County. This road can be rough at times and recommend adjusting driving speed to accommodate road condition.
Just under 48 miles to Livingston, and 1 1/2 hours from Bozeman Airport, the location is convenient yet very private, despite the other cabins on the property. Feedback, both in our guest book and online, for our cabin has been consistently wonderful, with our most recent guests saying our 'river home, not really a cabin, was over the top!'
Please join us for your Yellowstone National Park and cabin on the river vacation. Discover how comfortable and luxurious you can feel in the tranquility of the Montana experience!
We do occasionally see bears, mountain lions, wolves, bison and rattlesnakes on the property and we frequently have deer and elk, especially in the spring and fall. The property does have exterior cameras to for the protection and safety of our property and guests. Many times the elk will eat right outside the patio and bed down for the day. Please do not approach or feed any of the wildlife. You should always maintain 25 yards distance between elk, deer & bison and 100 yards from bears, wolves and mountain lions.
We do recommend if you are walking on the island, in the vicinity, on/off trails or along the river bank that you always carry bear spray which can be purchased at local gas stations, convenience stores and grocery stores.

This was such a nice place. Yellowstone was easily accessible and the cabin was a nice place to come to and relax after a long day in the park. We enjoyed watching the wildlife from the cabin. The highlight of animal watching was seeing the Elk cross the river behind the cabin. I would definitely highly recommend. We had such a good time.
Communication was clear, extra detailed and the cabin was in an adorable place and so easy to get to the town of Gardiner and the north entrance to Yellowstone park. So many extra things in the cabin like soap, detergent, paper towels, etc that made packing and shopping so much easier!
Our family of four stayed at The Grizzly Den for 2 nights while we toured the northern parts of Yellowstone. We couldn’t believe how close we were to the North Entrance while still feeling secluded & quiet. The cabin was clean & comfortable & had everything we needed. Communication with the host was prompt & check in was easy. The host provided a pdf of instructions to print before our trip, which was helpful since we had very limited cell service in the area.
Tough to beat. Great views, river front, clean cabin, great kitchen. Easy access to gardiner, but from the quiet road on the west side of the river.
Sleep with windows open to the sounds of the yellowstone river.
My new go to for fly fishing basecamp in the valley.
We had an amazing time here. The location is quiet and remote, yet so close to the entrance and cute town. Had everything we needed for comfort and making great meals and memories. We named this house the “Elk House”. At any point in the day you could see Elk and other wildlife roaming the property and enjoying the river. My favorite part was enjoying my morning coffee outside listening to the beautiful river and wildlife. Loved it and were sad to leave! Thank you!
We had an amazing stay at the Grizzly Den. The cabin itself was perfect for our family retreat (3 adults 1 child). The cabin was cozy, spacious, and had everything we needed. The location was phenomenal! You can walk out in the back yard within feet of the river bank.
On our first day a heard of 100+ elk crossed the Yellowstone river and we could see it all happen from the backyard of the cabin.
The cabin is a couple miles from the Yellowstone Park North Entrance which made visiting very easy and it is just as close to cute shops and restaurants in Gardiner.
I highly recommend the Grizzly Den to anyone looking for an adventure and a cozy stay!
Both bedrooms with a full bathroom within each bedroom where very nice for our two families that stayed. Very nice to have the river right out the back porch to enjoy your beverage of choice. First night, an elk grazed 20' from our back porch and there is a huge heard that was grazing down the road almost each day. There is recycling at the location where you drop your trash. Wish we would have known that before so we could help planet earth. Only negative was the dirt road to get there.
We had some minor check-in issues, but our host was very responsive and helped get that resolved promptly. As the listing mentions - the cabin is accessed via a gravel road. It is about a 10 minute drive from the town, so you should factor that into your plans. The location is wonderful/scenic - right next to the river. One thing worth noting is there is no soap/shampoo provided - at least when we stayed. This isn't called out explicitly in the listing, but the amenity list in the listing does not include it. Just be prepared for that. Also, no dishwasher. These did not bother us, but some might care. Just FYI.Overall, this was a very clean, comfortable cabin. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.
Second time we have stayed here - location ideal for us just north of Gardiner and not far from Bozeman where we did some added activities - again had frequent elk visits in the morning and had all conveniences we needed
Cabin 2 is wonderful…great location with beautiful views and tons of wildlife close by. It was the perfect home base for our excursions into Yellowstone.
We enjoyed sitting out back with cool drinks relaxing with the Yellowstone River and mountain view after spending all day in the park. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were soft.
Cabin was located very close to the North entrance of Yellowstone on the beautiful Yellowstone River. Downtown Gardiner was only minutes away, very convenient to grab groceries and included a few restaurants.
