THE VIEWS! Minutes from Garden of the Gods, Shawnee with Highland cows & a pool!
10/10 Excellent
"This property was awesome! The views are so incredible. It truly is magnificent. The owners kept the pool open for us and my husband swam while my sisters and I had our feet in (86 degree day on October 1). Sitting there watching nature enjoying the views and visiting with family makes perfect memories. Very rustic which is what we were looking for.Location is easy to Harrisburg and Eldorado which was great since we were visiting cousins.Hiking is great in the area and the owners animals kept us entertained. We will definitely be back to this property again!"
Garden of the Gods Retreat w/ Hot Tub & Fire Pit
10/10 Excellent
"This was absolutely the best VRBO we’ve stayed in. The property was beautiful, house was very clean. We had everything we needed and could ask for for this holiday weekend. They had a lot of information in an easy to follow binder. We had our dogs, they loved the large yard to run a play in. I can’t say enough wonderful things!!If we ever go back to that area, this is our go to!!"
Economy Inn & Suites
10/10 Excellent
"My husband and kids stayed for one night at this motel. When we checked in, they realized that they did not have a double bed room ready for us, because they had an unexpected group of people purchase a block of rooms the same night. However, the owner was extremely apologetic and made things right. They quickly cleaned a double bed room for us and ensured there were extra amenities including a coffee maker with supplies and a breakfast basket. Honestly, the room was better than some hotels that I've stayed at before. The room was very clean and had a mini fridge, microwave, and nice mattresses. It seemed like the room had been recently renovated because the flooring, paint, and other details were in excellent condition. We would for sure stay again and recommend! PS - when looking at reviews online for motels/hotels, be sure to use a site that is connected to actual stay. My understanding is that anyone can leave a review on sites like Google, so the reviewer may not have actually stayed at the location."
Black Ridge Cabin LLC
10/10 Excellent
"This place was great. Very close to hiking trails and the host was easy to communicate with."
The Hickory Hollow Log Cabin by Garden of Gods in the Shawnee National Forest
10/10 Excellent
"Hickory Hollow was what we were looking for. The unit matched what was advertised and was perfect for our quick couples retreat. Keyless entry and great directions from the Outpost were greatly appreciated. The unit was very clean and had all the supplies noted. The notebook in the unit was very useful for hiking and for dining suggestions. In Golconda we went to Diver Down Restaurant which we would highly recommend. Very close to Garden of the Gods and Cave In Park. Elizabethtown was another nice spot (Mercantile Store). I would suggest downloading maps of the area as cell phone reception is a bit sketchy."
White Oak Tree House by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest

Standard Suite - Bungalow overlooking the River
10/10 Excellent
"It is a very peaceful environment. Walking the property offers opportunities for quiet reflection , as does simply sitting on the porch overlooking the river."
The Cottonwood cabin by Garden of the Gods in the Shawnee National Forest
10/10 Excellent
"Very central to hiking in the Shawnee Forest. Only negative in our eyes was that there was no effort to enhance the exterior of the cabin. A little effort with landscaping could go a long way."
