"Location, location, location. We rented this home to celebrate our parents' 70th birthdays--it's near impossible to find a house big enough for 18 people in Falmouth. This home is located a short walk from downtown, a 2 minute bike ride from the bike path, and 5-15 minute drive from local beaches. Communication with both hosts was terrific. 9 bedrooms, hidden nooks for children to play, and a large outdoor space for dinners and games. Be mindful, this historic home has aged furniture and small showers/sinks that reflect its age. We also had a strong odor coming from the septic tank all week, affecting our tolerance to be in the kitchen. This issue might be modifiable! I would let the owners know of any issues if they should occur, as they were very responsive."

"The Falmouth Inn is in a great location, especially if you're taking the Island Queen Ferry to Martha's Vineyard—it's just a short walk away. Overall, the hotel appeared reasonably clean, but it had a slightly worn, not-quite-clean feel. When we checked in, there weren't any towels in the bathroom, but a staff member who was working nearby quickly brought some to our room, which we appreciated. The indoor pool was nice, although I don't think the retractable roof has ever been opened. Opening it on nice days would make the pool area much more enjoyable. The complimentary breakfast was basic but well stocked. One small improvement would be upgrading the plastic utensils—they were too flimsy to cut even simple breakfast items. Parking was another challenge. The lot filled up quickly, and we barely found a space when we returned later in the evening. Since the hotel doesn't issue parking permits or passes, I couldn't help but wonder if some non-guests use the lot to walk to the nearby ferry. Overall, we had a decent stay. The hotel met our needs for the two nights we were in town, and its convenient location was definitely its biggest advantage."

"Ideal location, super close to the main street of shops and a short walk from the beach. I stayed with my partner for 4th of July weekend and it was wonderful. Like other reviews said, the facilities are on the older and more outdated side, but we booked a queen bed and our space was clean and everything was functional. Met expectations and it was a great stay."

"We have some mixed feelings. In our initial room, the sofa bed mechanism was broken and the mattress did not lay flat. Staff was very responsive; moved us to another large room with a rollaway bed and that worked out fine. Our second night, the fire alarm went off at about 11:00 PM and we were outside the building until 1:30. Many fire trucks and emergency vehicles appeared and we could view smoke rising from our end of the building but there was no official information shared with the guests while we waited. The general manager did not interact with guests at all unless asked a question directly, and even then she communicated very little. No apologies for the inconvenience or informational updates. To the hotel's credit, the following day we found, left in our room, a letter from management along with a bottle of French wine and little box of Ben and Bill's chocolate truffles and we were refunded the cost for that night's stay, along with an offer of a 20% discount on our next stay. We thought that was quite fair. Our first morning, we ate breakfast at Persy's, right on the site. It was convenient to the hotel but there are much better places within walking distance of the Inn to get much better prepared food. The decaf coffee at Percy's was almost undrinkable. The Inn is under new ownership. We wish them well and look forward to seeing what they do with the Inn in the future."
