Welcome to the "Cottage on Avenue Q" on historic Galveston Island!

Beautifully updated family friendly 1913 island bungalow only two and a half blocks from the beach and entertainment. This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cozy home features fully equipped kitchen and bath, granite counter tops, stainless appliances, hardwood floors throughout, central HVAC, washer/dryer and Smart Roku TV is provided. The cottage has 2 bedrooms ( queen bed in one and 2 twins in the other). The cozy living room has a memory foam queen sleeper sofa. The kitchen is fully-equipped with all you'll need for your stay - pots, pans, dishes, flatware, coffee maker, blender, microwave and basic staples (salt, pepper, sugar, cream). The interior is beach cozy contemporary and is a blend of antique and modern furnishings including ship-lapped walls and exposed brick. . Other amenities include a vintage styled bathroom with ball and claw tub/shower combo, and a stackable washer/dryer. Great front porch for evening relaxing! Hosting and customer service is what we do best! We will make sure to check in with our guests via VRBO messenger when you arrive, but otherwise, we will leave you to explore the island and enjoy the Cottage on Avenue Q's amenities. We are always available 24/7 via messenger during your stay in case you have any questions or concerns. Don't miss out staying in this wonderful charming home!

Girls’ trip

We enjoyed our stay. The house was cozy and lovely. We enjoyed our coffee on the porch in the morning or sometimes even a short walk around the neighborhood. It had all the amenities we needed. We would stay here again, as well as recommended for small groups.

Good Times were had by all

Very comfortable for three people, in a convenient location if you rent a car. Not perfect if you have mobility issues, but doable. Lockbox proved difficult to open, but owners/managers were very responsive. We would stay again.

Super Galveston House for 2024 Mardi Gras

This was our first stay with VRBO and we loved staying at the Cottage on Avenue Q. The space was perfect for my friend and I to have a girl’s weekend. Home was very clean, had all the essentials for cookware and bedding, and every space was used to its fullest potential. Thank you for having us! A wonderful location; just a few blocks away from the beach. A very doable walk. The strand is close by with a ride-share service or bikes if you rent them. Parking was a breeze. Plenty of street parking available and the small shared grass pad in between the cottage and the neighbor’s unit is available for use. We will gladly stay at the Cottage again! Please don’t forget to sign the cute guest book.

Sweet stay in Galveston

Pictures don’t do this home justice. It is a very tastefully done space with everything you need. The queen bed was super comfortable, the neighborhood was quiet (except for the one Mardi Gras parade that went by but to be expected). As we were visiting for a wedding, we didn’t do much cooking beyond simple breakfast but the kitchen has what you need to make meals. There also is comfortable abundant seating in the living room and everything is just so well done. Linens and towels were lovely and I highly recommend this space if you need to travel to Galveston.

Clean and welcoming

The house was very clean and comfortable for our family of 5. The pictures of the home are accurate. We brought an air mattress for our youngest. It is close enough to walk to the beach, but it would be too far if you have little ones. The shower is ok (claw foot tubs are terrible for showers), the bathroom sink is tiny for getting ready, and a hose outside to wash sand off would be nice. We would definitely stay here again.

A house with a lot of Character

We really enjoyed our stay.The house really has so much character.I must have missed the sofa couch in the description of the property online , so we were pleasantly surprised to see on the house notes there was one available.We like to cook at least breakfast on our stays.The pots and pans were pretty basic, if you plan on cooking maybe bring something of your own to cook with. Overall the cleaning was pretty good. The ceiling fan and hvac vent was caked in dust.The only safety concerns I would bring up was we didn’t have a key to the rear door which had a deadbolt and most of the windows were sealed shut do to age and being painted shut.Thank goodness nothing happened where we needed to escape quickly.

PERFECT!!!!

Do yourself a favor and stay here! I love this little house so much I would live here! It is SO cozy, SUPER clean, and the decor is just the icing on the cake. The kitchen had everything we needed to make multiple meals and the beds were super comfortable... oh and the air conditioner worked great! That is a huge deal in the heat and humidity. :) Me, my sister and aunt all agreed we will be coming back next summer, but this time extending our stay! We really didn't want to leave. THANK YOU to our hosts for having a home that IS exactly as described!
