Welcome to the Sassy Seahorse where you are front and center at the Victorian condominium complex right on Galveston's Seawall and directly across the boulevard from Babe's Beach in Galveston. Welcoming up to 8 guests - and decorated in the name's theme - you'll love your stay here and be preparing for your next visit even before you leave.
Each of the 2 private bedrooms has a comfortable queen bed and there's a "bunk room" with twin over twin bunks as well, and if that's not enough space - the sofa in the living room is also a queen sleeper. There are 1 1/2 baths with a custom tiled tub/shower combination to be shared. The kitchen has a flat cook top surface, microwave, larger refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher plus everything you'll need to enjoy meals in, make snacks for game and movie nights, or warm up your leftover delicacies from any of Galveston's amazing eateries from diner style to white tablecloth elegance.
Visiting Galveston for one of the many competitive events hosted here? Cheer, dance, sports tournaments or conferences? Weddings, family reunions, class reunions, festivals, homes tours, or any other groups? Why squeeze into a tiny hotel room when your entire group could stay in their own condos and enjoy "together time" at the pools, hot tubs, etc. instead!
Being in walking distance to a big box store makes shopping a breeze whether for food and beverage selections, beach necessities you may have forgotten, or souvenirs to remind you of your trip to the Texas gulf coast.
The Victorian complex is located across from Babe’s Beach on Galveston’s Seawall – protected by traffic signals at both corners so you can safely walk across to the beach. There’s a huge big box store that starts with a W next door for all your shopping needs, and eateries in walking distance for sandwiches and BBQ.
You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pools, hot tubs, fitness center, tennis court and grounds including BBQ pergolas, fish cleaning station and a multitude of outdoor spaces with other guests and residents of the Victorian condominium complex. The complex has 2 pools – at least one of which is heated in the seasons when God does not do this for us. There are two hot tubs, a fitness center and picnic/BBQ areas. There are also 2 hot tubs, a tennis court, and BBQ grills and picnic areas sprinkled around the complex. There are several pay per use laundry centers at the complex. There is not a washer or dryer inside of the condo itself.
What's included: While we provide our guests with self check-in information and instructions, you can call us with any questions you may have at any time.
You will have exclusive use of the entire condo - and share the pools, hot tubs, fitness center, tennis court and grounds including BBQ pergolas, fish cleaning station and a multitude of outdoor spaces with other guests and residents of the Victorian condominium complex.
You certainly COULD stay here without a car - you can walk to shopping, eateries and the beach, there is public transportation nearby, and there are several local and nationally "branded" taxi services as well as ride share (Uber, Lyft) programs in place as well as meal deliveries (UberEats, ASAP (formerly WAITR) and DoorDash available as well. We provide self check in instructions 24-72 hours prior to arrival - and when you are on vacation - YOU ARE ON VACATION. Should you need to reach us, however, we are but a phone call or email away and ready to assist you. We are happy to answer any questions at any time, but to ensure we give you the correct code we cannot provide access instructions earlier than this.
Bed linens for all beds, one bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels as when we did – they continuously went home with our guests. If you wish to “rent” beach towels from us – it is $25 for condos that accommodate up to 6 guests and $35 for condos that accommodate up to 8 guests. Which is only the additional cost of the laundering of them – labor time, laundry products, etc. We will need to have a credit card on file for this as if there are beach towels missing upon your departure, the charge is $25 per towel. We ask that our bath towels not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.
Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are intended to get you started while you make your list and decide where to shop (there is a WalMart, Kroger, Randall's, Arlan's and Target on the island, as well as many mom & pop grocery stores.
The Victorian condominium complex is located on Seawall Boulevard with protected (traffic signal) crossing at the corner for ease of getting to the beach. You will be close to shopping and eateries - so whether you plan to experience Galveston's culinary adventures or save money by cooking in (some or all of your meals) it's convenient from this central Seawall Boulevard Location.
The Victorian condominium complex – like almost every condominium complex and hotel in Galveston, charges a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through, pools, hot tubs, fitness center and the WiFi code which is changed monthly. It is a complex-wide WiFi system. The charge is $35 + tax and includes up to 2 parking permits. This is for stays that are up to 7 consecutive nights in duration. For stays of 8-31 days it is $70 + tax, and for extended stays it is $70 + tax per month. We are unable to collect this in advance and pay it to the Victorian on your behalf. We don’t get to make the rules, we just play by them!
There are several pay-per-use laundry facilities at the Victorian, these accept credit and debit cards as methods of payment.
Many of our owners have switched out to “Smart” TV’s – so bring your login information with you to sign in to your own subscription services, and don’t forget to log-out before leaving.
The Victorian complex does not allow renters to have a pet – so if you travel with Fido or Fifi – please check out the other My Galveston Getaway managed properties that ARE dog friendly. While true service animals are an exception – you very well may be asked by the complex to provide the verification. For short term rental/vacation purposes – emotional support animals are not considered true support animals and we are unable to make exceptions to a rule that is in place and enforced by a complex in which we manage condos. Kindly be respectful.
All properties managed by My Galveston Getaway are 100% non-smoking/non-vaping properties.
After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.
Galveston is a barrier island located in the Gulf of Mexico. The island is susceptible to rainstorms, thunderstorms and even a hurricane now and then. Sometimes these result in temporary power and WiFi outages. We strongly encourage our renters to consider purchasing trip interruption/cancellation protection either through the platform that you book through or some other source. My Galveston Getaway issues refunds if a governmental official issues a mandatory evacuation of the island. Unfortunately we are unable to control sunshine, temperatures and mosquitos and do not refund other than pursuant to our policy based on evacuation orders. Thank you for understanding.
Again – the parking/resort/amenities/facilities fee is one charged by the condominium complex, not by the owner of the condo or My Galveston Getaway and we appreciate your understanding.
For all reservations made directly through our website and through VRBO, there is a $300 security deposit “hold” required. You certainly can purchase trip cancellation/interruption coverage through those platforms as well if you so desire, this is a damage “deposit” hold. This is released once our housekeepers advise that the property has been left in the condition received with no damages occurring during your stay. This is not a charge, but a hold on the credit card on file with which the reservation is made. Should there be damages and they exceed $300 to repair or replace, you will be notified and asked to make arrangements to compensate for those items.
Elevators on the gulf coast, especially this close to the beach, are more susceptible than others to malfunction due to the moisture, humidity and salt air. Thank you for understanding that we at My Galveston Getaway have no control over the functionality of elevators. Any time we become aware of an elevator outage we ensure that the complex is aware, and request an ETA for it's repair, and we will share that information with our guests when asked about it. This condo is on the 3rd floor of the complex and could potentially require climbing 3 flights of stairs to get to it.

Perfect location. Apartment is exactly as shown in pictures, clean, cozy. Kitchen has everything for cooking. Bathrooms had plenty clean towels. Communication was wonderful, very clear, timely, helpful

We stayed 2 evenings for a good long weekend getaway. The condo is in a great location, has a great view of the water, and the breeze was amazing. Owners attended to every detail. Plus- full size coffee pot- a must for me!
Came down to Galveston from IA to soak up some Vitamin D. Great location and great amenities on site, staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Lots of room for us and 5 teenagers! Love having morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the gulf!

The beach out the front window calling to you! It was amazing. Played on the beach and came back and sat by the pool. The home was clean and comfortable. We will stay here again!
This was my first VRBO that I’ve ever booked. The entire process was so easy and the owners at the Sassy Seahorse were very easy to communicate with! The condo where we stayed was clean and getting an earlier check in was inexpensive and easy. All good things plus we were close to everything and right off the main road AND an amazing beach view!
It was a spectacular stay we enjoyed everything about the condo bunk room just very small but it was overall a good stay will very much be coming back maybe when this heat goes down lol
This is a great condo to enjoy the beach as it is right across the street. We love that they had quick access to many stores and restaurants and it was easy to get to the communication with the property was fantastic and they were really great to work with. My only concern was how small the bunkbed room was, and the fact that the sofa pull out bed was not comfortable. It would be fantastic to have beach towels come with the rental since we were visiting from out of state. Other than that I’d definitely stay there again! The pools were warm and clean, the condo was just right and you get the most beautiful unobstructed view of the ocean which is why we stayed there!
This condo was absolutely perfect for our family! The view of the beach is perfect and location is great! I liked being able to be right next to the beach (without being in the middle of Seawall and traffic) and being right next door to Wal-Mart was super convenient for our family. I lived in Galveston for a few years and appreciate not being stuck in island traffic. We have this condo written down to stay here every trip. Our family loved the kiddie pool because it was deep enough for the adults but shallow enough for our 4-year old to play in. The elevator would be my only complaint. It was functional but scared my kiddos (pretty loud and the stopping was rough.) Wasn't great having to take luggage and groceries up and down the stairs because we were wary of the elevator. We were on the third floor right about the office. Perfect location & perfect view!
Check in is easy but make sure you have the unit number ready since front desk does not have that information. Parking $35 for 2 vehicles. We had no issues finding spots close to stairs. The unit is actually on 4th level since owner garage is ground floor. Great view and did not notice street noise inside. 2 queens are comfortable, we only used the bunk room for storage. No oven, toaster oven available. No cleaning supplies other than dish soap and sponge and broom and
Dustpan. No extras in the unit, bring beach chairs, sand toys, salt and pepper. Unit is clean and decorated nicely. Now for the property itself. The pool and surrounding area are very nice and clean. They do not have bicycle racks and recommend you take your bikes to your condo. Well that would have been an option IF the elevator worked. It worked for about 2 hours the 1st day of our 4 day stay. That meant 4 flights of stairs carrying luggage, ice chests etc. We were told it would be fixed soon, waiting on parts etc but that never happened. We had plans for older family members to come for an afternoon visit and dinner and had to cancel due to the stairs. Hard to believe a property can get by with this. The sign on elevators did say to use the elevator at the other end of the building but access was diwn 2 sets of stairs and literally across the building. The unit gets 5 stars and the property 4.
The location is perfect. The beds were comfortable. Everything was provided. The A/C was great. The best part was the balcony with the tall chairs close to the water. It was a blessing to sit out there in the morning with my coffee and my Bible study.
The condo was well placed for fun at Babes Beach and amusements like Rainforest Cafe and Moody Gardens were easily accessible.We especially liked watching the sunrise on the beach from the balcony.The space was roomy yet cozy. We had plenty of sleeping space for our group and the beds were comfortable. The kids enjoyed the bunk bed nook a lot. Having two toilet and sink areas was also appreciated.The kitchen was well enough equipped to allow us to make breakfast and lunch during our stay.Finally, we were impressed with the cleanliness of the condo.I would recommend this place to anyone traveling with family, friends and/or kids.
I've never stayed anywhere other than a hotel when going on vacation and the sassy seahorse changed that for me in all the right ways. It was very clean and comfortable. The decor inside was sooo cute!! The beachfront patio was amazing. We got to see dolphins from the patio! Being so convenient to all the must have shops and restaurants. Being able to just walk across the street and be on the beach was wonderful. The host of the property was very helpful every time I called with even silly questions. Always kind and courteous. I told them I would definitely be staying there every time I come to Galveston. They gave me all the information I needed for my future stays. The front desk of the Victorian was also very helpful and kind. Overall the was a 10/10 experience.
Loved the location and views. Was super nice having a grocery store next to the condo. Didn’t realize there was not a oven so can’t make a pizza haha! The complex it self is older but the check in was very easy. Great location across from the ocean and lots of places to eat and things to do. Would recommend having beach chairs and an umbrella to use would be nice but otherwise it was a great stay!!!
