The staff were friendly and helpful when we checked in. There were plenty of lifts going up and down so never had to wait for one. The sauna was nice and heated up fast. We didn't stay for breakfast but the dinner menu had good options. The sky bar has amazing views and the downstairs bar had good service.

The location is the best. It’s the meeting point for almost all tours. There are bus stops both ways right outside. And you can see aurora when it’s strong despite the lights. The only downside is the hot water isn’t stable in the room, and weak in mine. I had to use the shower in the sauna

staff was helpful, hotel is nice. the only thing that we arrived early 2 hours before check in at 2pm and was offered to check in early with a fee. We absolutely don't mind paying but why would we get charged when the room is ready is ready? I totally can understand fee for late check out but for early check in?

It is a short taxi ride from the Kiruna airport to the Scandia Kiruna Hotel. Once there, I was delighted to find that it was a pleasant walk to a number of shops...groceries, clothing, personal care, etc. The facility, itself, is very clean. The staff is welcoming. Very nice stay!

Great choice

Front desk employees were simply outstanding. We have a large family and visited at a busy time and they alerted us to arranging for taxis several days in advance and then calling to make the reservations for us. Brand new hotel. Skybar has great views. Breakfast buffet is excellent.

Great hotel. Very friendly and serviceminded staff. The breakfast is amazing. We had the evening buffet the first day, and that was really good. The skybar is cool, but a little upgrade for snacks and small courses could be good. Sauna is a must in the afternoon.

A well placed hotel with good views from where we were situated on the seventh floor. All members of staff we spoke with were friendly and very helpful. The free municipal bus service from the train station was a real bonus. The only thing we were disappointed but was the very limited choice off food served at the hotel.

Close to the airport in the new town. Quiet area with limited options for dining. Requires bus or taxi for sightseeing. Bus to/from airport just outside. Friendly staff. Very basic room amenities- no bath mat, no body lotion, no tissues, no slippers. Clean room. Minimal but palatable food choices at the restaurant buffet dinner.

Scandic kiruna hotel review

It was a beautiful stay with wonderful breakfast and dinner. The receptionists were super nice and friendly which also made it a pleasant stay. They interact with their customers and help them when they need it. As someone who is afraid of elevators I mostly took the stairs but there was one receptionist who was thoughtful and considerate and was very encouraging. One receptionist in particular who we saw the most was friendly and we really enjoyed our stay at Scandic Kiruna and her company. She was called Tilda and was funny, kind, respectful, encouraging, thoughtful and beautifully kind. She was the nicest receptionist we’ve ever met and this was definitely our favourite trip due to the hotel. So thank you Tilda and the rest of the receptionists at Scandic Kiruna

The Guesthouse was extremely comfortable and ideally situated for the Northern Lights photography that was the main reason for our visit. Not as cozy as it looks

The best thing about the hotel was the room that was nice and clean. The rest of the hotel was a bit disappointing. From looking at the pictures, I was looking forward to chilling in front of the fireplace with a hot chocolate in the afternoon or starting the day in the sauna. The reality is that the lobby is quite busy with people checking in all the time. Moreover, there is no fire in the fireplace, and the bar was out of cream and hot chocolate. The sauna was beautiful, but doesn’t open until 15.00 and is gender separated. Nice view from the skybar, but the vibe is quite tacky from drinks to selection of pop remixes.

Wonderful hotel with high quality services and amenities. - Sleek decor and comfortable lobby lounge, restaurant and rooftop skybar - Good food in the restaurant though slightly limited vegetarian/pescetarian options for lunch and dinner - Great room/bathroom amenities, no cupboard space but reasonable hanging space and good sized room make up for this - Great gym with full set of cardio and weight training equipment (kettlebells, dumbbells, mats etc) - Awesome sauna that is easily accessible with fantastic city views - Friendly and professional staff, helpful at all points during our stay - Snacks and amenities on sale at reception, also free coffee behind the reception desk - Live aurora forecast at reception with real time meteorological data - Tour agency, restaurants, library, cinema, museum just around the corner, bus stop across the street and small shopping centre within 5 minute walk Highly recommended, feels like a 5 star hotel
