Loved the atmosphere of this grand old hotel. We opened to window between bouts of rain and listened to the waves on the beach right outside. It was absolutely lovely! And I would happily stay again.

What an incredible accommodation the Gairloch Hotel must have been in its day! But like so many hotels of its vintage, its age shows. Ceiling cracks and chipped paint, musty carpets and drapes, sagging cushions in the lobby area—one shouldn’t be surprised to find such things in a moderately priced historic hotel. If you want the Ritz or the Savoy, you have to pay for it. But the Gairloch Hotel still has lots of charm, spacious rooms, updated bathrooms, and the most comfortable bed we slept on during our two and-a-half week Scotland trip. And the breakfast buffet isn’t half bad either. Have realistic expectations and you may actually find them exceeded.

Stopped at the hotel for a night. Great location and view. Room was clean and bed was comfy. Hotel is a little dated, but that is part of it's charm, though room could do with a little touch up. Breakfast was a buffet, had variety but lacked quality for the cooked part.

We were lucky to have a room with a nice sea view, and breakfast was tasty. Unfortunately the room (mainly the carpet) was pretty dirty. We did have a dog, so maybe we had a dog friendly room, but I could name at least 3 previous dogs that had stayed just by the carpet. A mix up with the bill meant we had a conversation on checkout regarding and unpaid dinner and drinks, but it was quickly resolved.

Newly refurbished room, so a nice fresh space with great views of the coast and comfortable bed. Shower had great pressure, although the toiletries dispenser kept falling off the wall which was a bit of a hazard. Bar area was spacious but nice and warm on a cool day.

Had a nice welcome and stay. The room was comfortable and clean with a lift as it was on the second floor. The restaurant was nice and the menu seemed good, however neither of us really enjoyed the meal which was over prepared was a shame. The food had either been kept too long before serving or just overcooked.
