Orient Beach Hotel

Orient Beach Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We had an excellent stay at Orient Beach Hotel. The staff was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We enjoyed the peace and quiet that we experienced during our 6-night stay. Despite the hotel being at full occupancy, the surroundings were very quiet and relaxing. The room was a good size and had an excellent ocean view that was nice to wake up to each morning. The air conditioning worked very well and kept the room nice and cool. Daily breakfast included croissants, yogurt, fruit, cheese, and coffee, which was all good. We opted to add eggs and toast for a small fee that was excellent as well. We sat and ate breakfast watching the ocean waves; what a way to start our day! The beach was not busy since it is their low season (August) and provided a breeze to keep us nice and cool under the shade. There was some seaweed, and it varied in amount each day, but each morning there was a tractor that cleared it off the beach, so it was very well managed from our perspective and not a big deal. About a dozen restaurants are no more than a 5 min walk from the hotel. All the food was of really good quality; we especially enjoyed our dinner at Ti Palm, which is located very close to the hotel. If you are looking for a nice, quiet romantic getaway, then definitely put this hotel at the top of your list! We will be coming back sometime soon. Merci"

La Toubana Hôtel & Spa

La Toubana Hôtel & Spa

10/10 Excellent
"We had an awesome time staying at La Toubana! The set up of the resort on the cliff side is very unique….. having a pool up top overlooking the sea and beach below offers the best of both worlds. They have done a great job of making each bungalow feel secluded utilizing the elevation of the cliff and foliage of the land. Bungalow 19 had a great view of a small cover and cliff side but also the southern tip of Basse-Terre in the background. This resort is on the smaller scale and more intimate, if you’re looking for busy nightlife this is not the place. At one point we had the pool to ourselves for close to 2 hours. Drinks and food are a little on the higher end compared to what can be found outside the resort. I would recommend getting a rental car to explore the islands as the resort has free parking. Overall an amazing experience and would totally recommend and even come back!"
