not a hotel just a room

a worldwide traveler, this would the kindda lodging i would expect in some other country on some other continent. amenities were nonexistent, television nonfunctional, staff nonchalant! barebones room and bathroom that didn’t look clean and inviting and didn’t feel clean and appealing. if hotels.com is gonna continue to list this, the bar needs to be raised. and guests need to be treated and welcomed as Guests!

Property is very unique but old and dirty. Internet worked perfectly, but the bathroom is in bad shape. Also, there are no blinds at the windows to allow for sleep in the dark, only small curtains. Fixing those and advertising the property with us history would make it fantastic.

I usually dont leave bad reviews but this place is so unacceptable. Let’s start with the room; first of all the room is dampened and stinky. Mostly because of the small size and no ceiling-fan in bathroom which results in steam on all windows and surfaces. Even with all windows open the room becomes incredibly humid. After a whole day out to come back to a damp room is not ideal. The room and space is very dated and very stinky (likely the damp situation). The bathroom toilet is stinky and the toilet bowl was left with streak mark from previous user. Bed linen was stinky and worse of all there were 4 spiders. I woke up with 3 spiders bites. There isn’t really a front desk but we were greated in an unprofessional way. The hosts also seem to be the cooks in the kitchen and were busy with food prep, with just enough time to toss us a key. Giving us the “go figure it out yourself” vibe. Not only dont they provide you with any information when you finally ask for the wifi password it only works in the main entrance of the eating area/building which is not close to your room. This means you’ll need to leave the room, go to the next building next door which isnt far but very inconvenient. I dont like standing outside in the pouring rain after I’ve already showered just to have wifi access. Not even a basic hair dryer. Absolutely the worst experience you can get. I really wish the hotel manager would advertise the truth instead of mislead guests to book their hotel.

Es ist schon ein Erlebnis in einer baulichen Anlage des Architekten Jörn Utzon zu wohnen! Leider hätten wir erwartet, dass die Zimmer entsprechend gewartet und behandelt werden (steht unter Denkmalschutz, entsprechend sollten z.B. Elektro-leitungen für den Fernseher nicht einfach auf der Wand verlegt sein, u.a.). Farbenfroh nach Utzons Vorstellung (wie auf der hauseigenen Website betont) sind die Zimmer nicht, glücklicherweise dann einfach weiß. Die Zweibettzimmer haben nur eine Sitzgelegenheit im Zimmer. Der Platz für die "gemeinsame Mikrowelle" für kleine Mahlzeiten ist viel zu klein für 6 Zimmer (1 - 6). Zeitweise waren bis zu 7 Personen auf engstem Raum (Ecke im Flur) zusammen, meist abends. Sehr ungünstig: es wird kein Frühstück angeboten (obwohl eine Restauration vorhanden ist, aber nur für die Bewohner der Gesamtanlage (Gartenhofhäuser) offen ist. Mit dem auf dem Zimmer vorhandenem Wasserkocher kann Wasser heiß gemacht werden, Tee an der Mikrowelle vorhanden, jedoch kein Kaffee. Wir haben entsprechend Filterkaffee mitgebracht. In der näheren Umgebung, bzw. in ganz Fredensborg gibt es keinen eigenständigen Bäcker mehr. Wir haben frische Brötchen im Super Brugsen (ca. 3-4 km auf der grünen Wiese vor der Stadt) gekauft. In Fredensborg auch keine Cafes oder Restaurants, die ein Frühstück anbieten (Öffnungszeiten frühestens ab 11:00 Uhr, Cafes sind mit Kneipen bei uns gleich zu setzen). Positiv ist das Museum im Haus bezüg. der Fredensborghusene von J.U. ( Di. 13-16Uhr)

Stedet og lokation er vidunderligt. Skøn arkitektur. Der var ingen personale til at checke os ind. Vi fandt en person i køkkenet, som gav os en nøgle. Der var en elkeddel på værelset, men ingen te eller kaffe. Det var svært at finde personale under hele ophold. Men hvis man kun bruge stedet som base, er det et super godt sted.
