Craving nature, the outdoors and a family or friends getaway? This place is all that, plus very private. Enjoy the outdoor shower, Large Back Deck or Front Pergola with hanging benches and swings and firepit or also the large firepit, below both. Beautiful views day or night with the sound of nature and the stars shining bright and that fresh, aromatic mountain air! Located in Cowee Valley above the famous Sheffield Gem Mine and only a short drive to the town of Franklin, which offers breweries, restaurants, shopping and grocery stores.
Ruby Gem Cabin offers 4 bedrooms with 5 beds, a queen blow up and room on the large living room sofa to accommodate up to 11 people. The kitchen and dining room are large with plenty of chairs. 2 newly remodeled bathrooms with special design touches, plus an additional outdoor shower for the warmer months.

Amazing tranquil country home

I just can’t say enough about this property and the manager. Perfect place with plenty of room for our family. Very secluded and peaceful. Everything you could need for a long or quick get away. We will definitely be back. Tanya was so nice and helpful and very quick to respond. Absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Loved the place

Wish we had more time there. Was a great fit for 6 adults and 4 kids 4-11 and an 11 month old. Kitchen was big enough to cook although we only did breakfast. I like it when you go somewhere and there are some staples there. The kids enjoyed the net pillow swings outside and if we had been there longer we would have made a fire outside. Would be great to go back and enjoy the outdoors.

We had a wonderful time. Tanya was so great. Easy to communicate with. We were so grateful to have our time here. Best place for our dogs. She even had sheets to cover furniture so that our fur babies felt at home being with us on the couch & bed. The view was beautiful!!! Had a wonderful time and it it so nice when the host is an wonderful as Tanya.

Perfect fall weekend

My family enjoyed time at the fire pit swings. You could see the stars listen to the night sounds. Lovely. The back porch had a big dining table we all gathered around. Property was clean. Lots of amenities. The only 4 star i gave was on property description: there was not an office with a sofa bed. We will definitely stay here again.

Family Vacation 2024

We have been coming to Sheffield Mine since 2005 and love staying in the Cowee Valley area. This is the first opportunity we have had to stay at Ruby Gem Cabin. It definitely checked all the boxes we look for when booking a vacation rental. King size bed, central a/c, WiFi, peaceful location. Tanya is an amazing host and her cabin is one of those places you hesitate to tell others just how good it is for fear it will be fully booked when you want to come back. Ruby was the best stocked cabin we have stayed in and even had a highchair for our grandbaby. I’ve already emailed to get details on the king mattress as we slept soundly through the night all week, something that doesn’t happen at home with our Tempur-Pedic. Tanya has a gift with interior design and Ruby reflects that. We will definitely return in the future.

The house was very clean. Well thought out. Our whole family really felt comfortable there. We all loved the house. Beds where very comfortable, the sheets where the best, top notch for sure. Wonderful house to have a family gathering, large rooms, with good space inside and outside as well. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved the veiws from the kitchen. Very quiet and peaceful. Two Night Stay

We rented this property for a visiting band to stay in and they loved it! The only issue was access to the property with a steep gravel road. Tanya is a fantastic, communicative, and welcoming host!
