The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed the way we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our lust for exploring. Here are some tips on how to navigate travel's new challenges:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before locking in a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as taking a COVID-19 test.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. Be prepared to lower your mask for ID purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• You're no longer required to hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, position the pass on the scanner and then hold it up to allow the agent to visually inspect it.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on luggage. This will need to be taken out for X-ray scanning.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
