The lion symbolizes the heroic French resistance during the Siege of Belfort, a 103-day Prussian assault from December 1870 to February 1871.

"Vraiment un accueil désagrable! Le responsable de l'hotel avait perdu ma réservation (car les mails d'hotel.com allaient dans ses indésirabes... belle gestion...). M'ont laissé 30 min pour arriver alors que j'avais réservé des 16h30, le soir où les eurockéennes venaient d'annuler et où on ne trouvait pas de taxi. Sous peine de ne pas m'ouvrir... "The stay was great at the Mercure Belfort. Just a one night stopover but it was very good. Staff were very helpful and the room was lovely. Ate in the bar/restaurant connected to the hotel, this was all deck out for Halloween and was quite buzzing busy. Never the less we got a table and the food was good. We also charged the car overnight and the charger was good, perfect for overnight charge. Would definitely stay again."

"The staff at the hotel was lovely! The room was spacious and clean. The Hotel breakfast buffet was really nice. They had a lot of options to choose from. Locatio is very close to the train station which is very convenient, and it is also a short walk away from the city center. I recommend staying here!"
