My stay exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and in good condition. The location was optimal. I could walk along the beach and visit the amazing market, the ice cream, shop, and many restaurants. The area was lively and I always felt safe. The staff was truly outstanding. They were always friendly and helpful, and usually spoke English. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of local foods and was one of the best I have had in my many travels around the world. I highly recommend this hotel.

It’s a bit outdated but most hotels in Fortaleza will be. However excellent staff and location is great for exploring the beach. Also cute fun beach bars across the street. I would come back here.

I have stayed at this property over 30 times in the last 14 years. The only reason I have not stayed at the property during that time is that was full and not available. While it may not be as fancy as other properties, it trumps them with its welcoming environment. I have no hesitation whatsoever in fully recommending that you choose Hotel Beira Mar as your lodging preference while in Fortaleza!.

TERRIBLE-DONT STAY HERE!!!! STAFF WAS AWFUL- worst experience ever!!! As a world traveler and a flight attendant for over 15 years all I can say is this was the top worst experience in my travel experience in over 20 years. Treated my family terribly- stayed there for over 7 nights unfortunately. Didn’t give us the right rooms we paid for originally. Tried to overcharge us for people in our room. I booked 2 family rooms (slept 8 people) we only had 4 adults and a child. Finally got the rooms we paid for only took 2 hours to check in. Had to move rooms twice due to poor air conditioning issues. They couldn’t care less. “Take up with Expedia” was their response. I asked to talked to the general manger/supervisor. Some person claimed he was the general manager. lied straight to my face. He was not he was only the acting manager at that time. That’s not what I asked for I asked to talk to the person in charge. In the end I did which of course was a waste of time too. BESIDES -Terrible staff/service - Extremely dated hotel -Air conditioning works in some rooms and the ones it does work it leaks on the table and chairs in your room. Move your stuff somewhere else to get ready. -Pool there is one also very dated. Hot tub is cold. There is no service at the pool you have to walk inside the restaurant to find a server to order drinks and food. - there is a bar outside but its not a place to hang out its a place to wait for an uber. Waste of money.
