"This hotel has gone through a major renewal over the past 10+ years. I lived in Grantown-on-Spey for over a decade and I have seen this hotel at its absolute worst. It is now an absolute gem of a local hotel. Conveniently located in the center of the Scottish Highlands making day trips to 4 corners of Scotland quite doable. I know, I have done it!! The breakfast is beautifully Scottish. Well worth starting your day off with a full Scottish breakfast. After a day out being an accidental tourist cause you took a wrong turn and ended up in some cool tiny village that you can’t even pronounce its name for amazing fish and chips and cool locally produced art. You can come back for a meat pie and a pint and enjoy all photos you took while being an accidental tourist. Never lost, just accidental tourism. "

"I was visiting Forres for a work event and needed a hotel nearby. The Carlton was lovely. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming; check in was a breeze. The room was super clean and had all the amenities you needed. The bed was excellent and very comfy. Would thoroughly recommend this excellent hotel which is great value for money."
