Like stepping back in time!
"The property is an incredible medieval tower in a tiny Tuscan town. There is a beautiful river right next to the tower - you can hear the water rushing by from the terrace on the roof. The terrace itself is an experience, breathtaking views from your own private hot tub.
Feels like you're living in your own castle, it's an incredible experience! The tower is painted with murals of castles and landmarks in the valley. This tower has history, as well, the poet Dante may have lived in this tower during his exile!
Monica is a great host, even had a meal ready for us when we arrived. This was delicious and much appreciated as most restaurants were closed on the day we arrived.
A couple of things to be aware of since it is a real medieval tower.
1 - Stairs, there are lots of them. It's a climb to the first level from the street, then each level (Bedroom, Kitchen/Living, Terrace) is separated by a flight of steps.
2 - The town is very small and amenities are few, especially during the winter off season. There is a grocery store in town and Poppi, just a 10-15 minute drive away, does have all the key amenities with a great bakery/cafe and a gelateria. It is also not well connected to public transport, so a car is all but required.
3 - Before you arrive, take time to make sure you understand the energy consumption charges that are above and beyond the rate.
Overall, it was an incredible stay and we would be happy to stay at one of Monica's properties again anytime."

Tuscany small town charm - Il Cuculo
"Our Stia stay was exactly what we were looking for as a family of 2 grandparents, 4 adult children and 2 grandchildren, age 2 and infant, plus 3 other adults at times. We enjoyed a walkable town and excursions throughout Tuscany. Lucia was top notch and made our two weeks extraordinary - she booked a private chef, a pizza night at the home pizza oven, suggested wineries and helped with some transportation needs. She was attentive to all our requests! It's a beautiful property with a lovely pool and home. Florence and Arezzo are an hour away but there are many places to explore. The house accomodated our large group. The beds were hard but we really enjoyed our stay and recommend."
