Barbara is the consummate host. She's been running this place for years and it shows; it's like you are visiting a friend when you stay here. She can help you with all the answers to any kind of question you might have. We stayed in the Family unit. This is a larger unit than most in Barbara's complex and very comfortable. You're a stone's throw from all the sites here but also well situated for grabbing a morning coffee and croissant with the locals; at a very reasonable cost. The complex has a very nice small garden area in the middle which is comfortable for sitting and enjoying a read or glass of wine. The breakfast is out of this world. Barbara's baking skills are top-notch. In addition to more than enough pastry, there are plenty of other high-quality elements to the breakfast. Some notes; our particular unit did have windows but they opened onto the street so no view. Many of the other units that Barbara has open onto the garden in the middle of the building. We'd definitely stay with Barbara again.

The place was a few blocks away from the academia, minutes away from the duomo, and 20 minutes away from Ponte Vecchio. Restaurants, galore everywhere you looked, and it was very quiet and away from all the hustle and bustle. Perfect location!

This porperty was excellent. The lady on the desk was very friendly and was very helpful giving us directions to on what to see and things to do in flourence and throughout the region. She is multilingual and her english was good. The breakfast was very good and lady also baked a lovley chocolate cake for my daugher to try, as she had asked if there was anything she would like for breakfast. The room was spacious and there was a conecting room for my daughter to sleep in which she really liked. The room had AC which stayed at temperature which was great after a day in the sun. The parking is 3min walk away and 5min drive away. I would happily stay here agian and will recommend to anyone coming to flourence.

Barbara was a great host. Very helpful. The property is beautiful, quaint and cozy. It felt like a very authentic. The only issues with my room were the shower not having hot running water very long and the air conditioning not workin too well.

Central Florence
This was a very central location yet carved out a quiet serene spot with lovely room and breakfast. The only disappointment was the shower which had poor pressure. Great bed.

Excellent hotel, exactly what we were looking for. The location was perfect for exploring all of Florence attractions and being able to come back to the hotel easily on foot. Barbara running the place was fantastic from the moment we arrived, taking a real interest to get to know you and make sure she offered advise and hep with everything, even though we were only staying for 1 night. Parking is arranged at one of the nearby underground parking lots with the hotel having preferential rate and priority at the car park which is only a couple of streets away from the hotel. The room was very clean. Not massive but we did not expect it to be a massive room for this location and price but it was perfect for what we needed while looking around Florence. Even has a view of the Duomo from our bedroom window. Barbara really made the stay extra special and made us feel very welcome and we would certainly stay at this hotel again when we return to Florence

Good location, host very nice and helpful, excellent breakfast. Property had character and was in a quiet street but was still just a few minutes walk from the centre of town. Would stay again if ever visiting Florence again.

Not impressed at all. The ONLY nice thing about this place is the garden / outdoor seating area. The Owner, Neri, is not friendly ...did not even acknowledge our existence when we arrived .I had to be the one to speak first. The room was DIRTY.... FILTHY.... I travel quite frequently and this was definitely one of my worst stays. With all of the competition in Florence, Italy (including Airbnb), I would NEVER recommend this place.

Residenza Il Villino is a true match for Florence
The history filled walls, ideal location, the calm environment, the staff's dedication to the customers' needs and the attention to detail, particularly to make the amazing breakfast at the courtyard fit for royalty. I had personalised tips on which areas of the city would provide the real feel/ non-touristic experience, this made a huge difference to me, as the city can be quite overwhelming with so many people either asking for money or forcing sales on you. I am pleased with my stay and completely recommended it if you are looking for somewhere calm and mature. Thank you!

Comfortable B&B with friendly staff
We recently stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time. The B&B gives a feel of staying in a local setting with a courtyard. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast in the courtyard is very nice. The breakfast is simple but comprehensive and includes toast bread, fruits, cereal, scrambled eggs and juices. The reception is only during the day time but getting in and out of the building at nights is fairly easy. One thing to remember is that this is a few minutes away from the busy streets, in case thats a requirement for some. One day we left the room after the cleaning staff had gone back but the person at the front desk was kind enough to go over and beyond and change the sheets etc himself. Thank you for that. Overall we had a comfortable stay and recommend it.

This B&B is a gem.
From check in to check out, our stay was great!! Caesar checked us in, walked us up the five flights of stairs to our room, and then made another trip up to our room with an ice pack for a twisted ankle. Breakfast in the charming courtyard was very nice. The room was small, but had a great view from the window and was plenty big enough for two people. We would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a quite place that is not too far from any of the sites to see in Florence.

Residenza Il Vilino is a beautiful old building in the heart of Florence, and an eight minutes walk to the Duomo and lots of restaurants, shops, etc. The hosts were delightful and the whole experience was wonderful.

Having booked this b&b after viewing many other places to stay, I think we hit on a good place. Giovanni was a fantastic host and really was very genuine in his friendliness, happy to help with anything. The room we had was great, very spacious with our own terrace, table and chairs included, nice little sun trap. The only thing that let the room down was that the shower look a bit old, and didn’t really point where you wanted it to, a case of moving yourself under the water, instead of pointing the water at you. Plenty of storage for your clothes, with light switches in convenient locations and plugs for the tea and coffee making, charging phones and the like. Also in one of the draws was a multi adaptor if you have too many things to charge. The breakfast is a continental type, and has a good selection of things to cater for everyone, never started the day hungry . The location is just perfect, just down the road from the Duomo, far enough for there to be no noise, but close enough for a short walk to the old part of Florence. All in all, a great place for the price.

Hotel is walking distance to almost everything within city limits. Neri and Giovanni were lovely to recommend great things to do. Neri went further to help us with booking our tour to cinque terre and it was fantastic! Definitely a place to check out and stay while in Florence!

A great Italian hotel
This hotel is great. The rooms are comfortable, elegant but unfussy. They feel very Italian. They are well equipped with a realistically priced minibar, toiletries and hair dryer. The only omission for me is a kettle. The staff are polite, helpful and friendly. The breakfast is lots better than many I have experienced in Italy with plenty of variety and good quality food.

The hotel was functional and efficient but lacked soul. It looked charming in the pictures but it felt old and outdated. The chair in the entrance was stained, the reception staff person was efficient but did not seem to like us very much. WiFi was slow. Breakfast was reasonable.

You don’t need much more
The perfect stay.. the room is spacious and has all the amenities plus a few little touches which make your stay so much more pleasant. The hotel is conveniently located and the room has AC. What more do you need.

We had a lovely stay at Villino B&B. It had old world charm updated for today’s traveler — Great WiFi, modern shower, a beautiful garden to dine in for breakfast and a respite to open a nice bottle of wine in after touring Florence. Lovely!

Very nice, clean and professional
I stayed only one night at Residenza Il Villino B&B while my apartment nearby was under construction. The staff is very nice and attentive, the room was extremely clean and spacious. Breakfast is also nicely done, though I wished there was an offering of Italian espresso or cappuccino. The only drawback was that the bed was not very comfortable to me. Others may not feel that way but I had a hard time sleeping because of it. Everything else about this B&B is very nice, though, so I would recommend it.

Very sweet B&B close to the Duomo
We had a lovely stay at Residenza il Villino in early March 2018. First, the owners are very caring and attentive. The inn is high on charm—lovely stone floors, iron work, plaster walls, and stained glass windows, with a stunning court yard in the center next to the breakfast room. Breakfast was a well appointed continental style (great pastries, cheese, etc), with either American coffee or made to order espresso or cappuccino. The room we had was a good size with a king bed and clean bathroom. We had a view of the Duomo from outside of our stained glass windows. This was topped by a beautiful exposed beam ceiling. What can I say? It was ideal. One note, the bed and pillows were perfectly nice, but a little on the firm side. Bring your own pillow if you need a softer place to land after your day of sightseeing. Highly recommend this beautiful, well placed and impeccably run B&B.
