We've got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our top tips and you'll be hightailing it through airport security and exploring Longevilles-Mont-d'Or in no time at all. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a cruisy experience if you take the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletry items, such as a toothbrush and hairbrush, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, find room in your hand luggage for your laptop, a charger, any medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also not allowed.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim is to be as comfortable as you can. Opt for a pair of flat, closed-toe shoes, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and don't forget to bring a sweater in case you get chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Wander around the cabin and stretch your legs or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
