About this property

Delightful House for Up to 6 Guests + Baby With Large Secluded Garden Area

  • Le Clos is a delightful house situated in a secluded area of the village of Fleury, a few minutes drive from the lively town of Villedieu-les-Poêles and approximately 30 minutes drive from many lovely, sandy beaches. To date we've welcomed guests from the UK, Ireland, France, The Netherlands, Italy, USA, Canada, Australia and Austria and we were most honoured to welcome a D Day veteran back to the region. Le Clos is the perfect setting to unwind with a glass of wine or local cider - a bottle of each is in the fridge waiting for you!

The house is easily accessible from ferry and airports and provides a perfect base for exploring the best of rural, coastal and historic Normandy or taking a trip to the Channel Islands.

Le Clos has undergone a complete professional and sympathetic renovation and extension to provide modern holiday accommodation which retains much of the character of the original building – notably oak beams, a large granite fireplace and wooden floors. Outside there is a terrace area, a lawn area and parking for several cars.

Within the bookcase there are several books on the vast range of wildlife that you may see in the area and possibly from Le Clos, Normandy in the Second World War (in English and French) and various paperbacks in French and English.

There is also a mountain bike, a selection of toys and games, beach games, a boules set, a small table tennis table and table football game.

Fleury, about a mile away, offers a bakery, garage, café / restaurant and tennis court. Villedieu-les-Poêles, a five minute drive away, offers all you would expect from a medium sized town including a supermarket and indoor swimming pool.

    The practical side of things!

We aim to ensure that Le Clos has the basic things you need without wondering what to bring and what you might miss! So, in addition to cutlery, crockery, glasses and cooking utensils you will also find limited supplies of the following:

Salt, pepper, sugar, toilet rolls, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, soap, bin bags, cleaning materials, matches and candles (for emergency use only please).

You will also find two pillows per person, a fire extinguisher, smoke alarms, an iron, ironing board, pegs with washing line to rear, an electric kettle, TV, DVD player with a small selection of DVDs, CD player, radio, a portable BBQ and pen and paper.

What a lovely house! The best we've stayed in in over 20 years of visiting France. It had everything! Lovely and quiet. Total privacy. Jeremy and Sandrine were both lovely in all of our correspondence. Great base for this part of Normandy, not that far to Mont Saint-Michel, so worth a visit! Was a great relaxing 1 week holiday in a superb house!

Perfect secluded sanctuary with easy access to Manche and Calvados

Fulfilled all of our expectations for a peaceful and relaxing family stay. Le Clos provided us all with the perfect, secluded rural retreat we wished for and the dogs loved the garden. The neighbours, the birds and the cattle were all most welcoming and the local patisserie provided the icing on the cake.

Perfect house with garden

We loved the house and all its amenities. Everything we needed was there. The garden is a dream for kids to play and explore. We would definitely come back to this beautiful place.

Awful Experience

House is dirty as hell. Shower with a lot of black mould. Everything is dusty and the beds are worn down an uncomfy. Very bad smell in the small bedroom. Cleaned the kitchen (a lot of cobwebs, insects) and bedrooms for 3 hours to be able to sleep there, as we arrived tired after a long drive. We left the house after 2 days and checked in at a hotel. Informed the owner and got our money back from the agency and an apology from the owner. As long at it's not deep cleaned and the shower room renovated, cannot recommend the house. We took a lot of pictures to be able to proof the very bad condition. Cannot understand the good review written in April this year. Such an amount of black mould does not arise in a few month.
