"Beautiful and magical and magnificent "

"The room was clean and well maintained. The shared washrooms were also very clean. There is also a faucet and sink in the room as well. The staff was helpful as well. The breakfast in general is excellent. This is one of very few possible stays in Rosendal. As Rosendal is a small town, it was expected that the hotel is less polished. But the hotel is very clean from the inside. However, there will be bugs (flies/gnatts) in the summer. Don't know if it is a good or bad thing. There were signs saying "This hotel is for sale" during my visit."

"We never tired of the view...absolutely magnificent. We were there in May and enjoyed the midnight sun! Plenty of sturdy deck chairs, a big hot tub, and an impressive large couch with plenty of throw pillows. Only 2 of us so the property felt large. Just incredible sunsets, relaxing hike to grocery (25 mins), even a farm across the way with friendly goats, Scottish cattle, horses, even emus! Easy taking modern bus to Bergen. We rented a car for last 2 days, but did fine first 2 days hiking around. Friendly people in the area, and very relaxing."

But more importantly, the house is spotless and equipped with everything you need to have a home away from home. We hated leaving. And he responded to any needs we had right away. And the proprietors are caring, warm and everything one would want in a place to stay. Sitting outside with a capuccino looking out at the fjord as the sun sets--- Wow.
