A great retreat

We loved our stay! It was the perfect place for a quiet getaway before the busy holiday season. With so much nature in the area to explore, we came home feeling relaxed and rested. The cabin was very comfortable, clean, and had all of the amenities we needed for the weekend.

Lovely Getaway

My husband and I stayed at this house for a long weekend. It was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Check in was straightforward, and directions were very clear. We had a great time, and would love to return when everything has thawed!

Winter retreat

Very nice place away from it all. Adequately equipped kitchen. Gas fireplace kept us warm all weekend. Bed was very comfortable. Creek was frozen over, so guess we’ll have to come back in the summer. Recommend highly.

Great Getaway

Great location and cabin!

Location of property was stunning and the cabin was very cozy and even more beautiful than the pictures shown. It had everything you need and easy to settle in for a couple of days. The area around property was beautiful and we found many things to do and explore. We would love to come back in the summer/early fall to see what the area is like without all the snow!

Cute and updated log cabin

We loved the place , beautiful spot on the baptism river ! Great place centrally located from the different hikes and sights we did. I liked the updated kitchen too, bonus! Enjoyed some coffee by the river one morning and watched movies at night.

Beautiful cabin in relaxing setting

This is a quaint cabin on a beautiful creek off the beaten path. If you want to get away from the everyday grind, this is a fantastic option for an escape. Clean and as advertised.

Weekend Getaway

Beautiful and Peaceful

We spent three days at the cabin. It was quiet, peaceful, and secluded. Beautiful view of the river. Nice, screened-in gazebo to relax and listen to the river's flow and singing birds. The cabin is well-equipped and stocked and beds are comfortable. We plan on coming back!

Nice Get Away

Looking for a nice quiet cabin in the Northwoods of MN. This is the place. Close to Finland (town not country), Lake Superior, the Baptism River, and Tettegouche State Park. The cabin was small but comfy for two people. Way to much snow to explore the property but did make it down to snowshoe a bit on Crown Creek.

Cabin

It was amazing to listen to the river all day and night and drink coffee in the morning basking in the sun and nature. There were no neighbors around and everything was extremely peaceful. I can see myself rebooking the cabin every year as a peaceful retreat to recharge. We visited the Finnish festival and went fishing and canoeing. We enjoyed being so isolated but also so close to Lake Superior. The cabin was very clean and ready to go. There were very clear instructions on how to work everything and check out expectations. I appreciated it.

Great Place to Get Away

We really enjoyed the beautiful cabin and surroundings. The sound of the water was awesome to wake up to. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. Dave's book of favorite things turned out to be a real treasure. As someone who has lived in MN all my life and visited the North Shore every year, I was surprised to learn there were still things I'd never known about to go see. We really enjoyed Illgen Falls and Hidden Beach. Thanks for sharing your space with us. If I had to give one thing for improvement- the camera clearly does not just point down the driveway. We tried not to care, but it did feel like we could be on camera any time, which made it not quite as relaxing to be there as it would have been otherwise. (sometimes you don't want to wear pants, you know?) That said, we just made saying hi to Dave part of our routine. :) Thanks for a great trip, Dave!

Amazing Property!

Such a beautiful area and comfy cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our week stay here. The property is lovely. We spent nearly every moment outside. Had a bonfire every night. If you'd like to do the same, you'll need to purchase wood from a stand along Hwy 1. We had all meals at the cabin and the kitchen is well stocked. However, I would recommend to bring a solid cooking utensil or two. The ones provided are cheap plastic and most are burnt/melted. We decided to stay in the area and avoid Hwy 61. Very happy we did so! Crosby Manitou Park has great hiking and it's less busy. There's no shortage of small canoeing lakes in the area. The Fall colors were spectacular! The only reservation we had was with the ever present security camera. Felt watched all the time in the yard. We understand the need for it, however, it would have been nice to turn off while we were there and outside. Otherwise, we hope to be back soon!

Quiet and nice location.

Nice location, very secluded and quiet would stay again with some changes. Upon arriving first thing we noticed was the camera which is understandable for security, but it was not noted on listing and it was in a position that could clearly see inside the cabin as there were no blinds. Kind of creepy honestly. The second problem was I rented this place for the stream access. Upon walking down by the stream they had a fence up you could not go through….making the stream completely inaccessible. Again, things like this should be noted on description as it’s very misleading and would’ve changed my mind about renting the place.Property was clean and has everything you need. I did have to tether off my WiFi hotspot to watch TV. Depending on your service this may not be an option for other folks, so that is something to keep in mind.

North woods getaway

Dave's cabin was fantastic, again. We have stayed several times, and will continue to come back. The property is secluded, and has a great view. We loved sitting on the deck, around the fire and playing games in the gazebo.
