This cabin in the woods was a great getaway. The property was very cozy and comfortable. We all really enjoyed the guided horseback riding that is on the premises.
This cabin was beautiful, clean & spacious. The only complaints are poor cell phone signal (WiFi was good though), distance to town & the AC stopped working.
We had a peaceful and relaxing Christmas weekend at Rainbow's Edge. The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed. It was too cold to hike the trails but we were well entertained with the games and streaming options. We hope to return in the future.

We enjoyed our time very much. We visited Blowing Rock, Boone and Tweetsie. The roads were very wind-ie but worth staying off the beaten path.
My husband & I along with our pup thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was very well equiped and the basics like the variety of spices, plastic wrap and good supply of paper products that were left for us really made our stay that much better. The fenced in yard for our pup was the best as it allowed is freedom to enjoy without having to worry about Fido's safety. We will be back to Rainbow's Edge!
What a wonderful house, beautiful furnishings, and a spectacular view from the large and inviting back deck. Everything was clean and working. At 69 with Parkinson’s, I didn’t try the hot tub but my wife loved it. Loved the master shower. The privacy of the property up on the ridge made for an unforgettable tranquil weekend in the mountains. We definitely would love to come back and get to explore the area more.

Busy business owner that needed a few days of peace and quiet. Thankyou so much for being pet friendly! Set up perfect for dogs to go outside. Enjoyed it so much. Beautiful home and really enjoyed the Farwell committee as we left - huge strutting turkey!
This property was so clean. The kitchen was actually well stocked. I find many houses say this but in reality they aren’t great. This house had everything we needed in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable. The view was beautiful. This is a great house to escape the busyness of life. If you want to do more in Boone or Blowing rock, this may not be the best house. It’s quite a drive.

Having stayed at a number of vacation rentals it is wonderful to attach a gushing review for our stay at, 'At Rainbows Edge'.From our arrival the check in process was seamless and easy. Entering into the property it was obvious the property was well kept and maintained. Very clean, wonderfully equipped and furnished. Everything we needed was provided which was terrific because the property is 30 minutes from the closest store, (exactly what er were looking for). The views from the property were amazing and we took advantage of the upper deck and the lower patio fire ring as we soaked up the views.Highly recommend the property and the Leatherwood Resort.

The experience was great. Only thing that wasn't great was the bed mattress and box spring on the lower level. That was worn-out and needs to be replaced.

Reviewer Comments:
We stayed in Rainbows Edge for 7 nights. The cabin was nice. However, the ac ducting for the upstairs and downstairs were connected which results in the downstairs being 6-9 degrees cooler than upstairs. So, the those sleeping downstairs were very cold at biggest complaint was the horse paddock. We had a heavy rain the first night and the paddock turned into a fly infested mudhole!! The mud was 3-4 inches deep (I am not exaggerating). There was no water in the paddock or water buckets (good thing I brought my own). So, I had to fill the buckets up near the house and carry them through the mud. There was no lights in the paddock, or bedding provided either. You could see where previous people through their horses manure over the fence. This created the terrible fly infestation. I looked into putting my horses in Leatherwood's stalls but they are small, dark and there is no security. There is no gate at the road and the stalls are near the main road. So anyone could easily come in during the night and take the horses. I know this is highly unlikely, but it is not a chance I was willing to take. So, I pushed and sprayed the pile of manure down the mountain and continually picked up my horses manure and through it down the mountain across the street. I kept my horse sprayed downed and it became manageable. So, for all of this I get to pay them an extra $50 per night. I complained about this and they refunded me $150. The paddock is there regardless if I bring horses or not. They are not providing any services so why would they charge $25 per horse per night? Regarding the horse trails. Apparently there is only one person at Leatherwood that knows anything about the trails and she is hard to track down. This was quite surprising. I wanted to get some details about the different trails terrain and it took me two days to catch up with her. The trails need to be better marked as well.
