Great Bear

The chalet GREAT BEAR is situated in a beautiful and very sunny setting, 10 minutes from the road. The wide open panorama offers exceptional views over the valley and all the mountains.

It is a typical family chalet, with charm and character, which we offer to people who wish to discover the most beautiful valley in the Alps. We ourselves go there regularly on holiday!

The chalet has everything you need for a great stay! Try our raclette oven!

The chalet is located slightly above the village centre, in the fields. The neighbourhood is ideal for people who like to have space and no direct access to a road (perfect for people with children!).

Important notes:
ACCESS TO THE CHALET IS ON FOOT, ~12MIN from the private covered car park in the centre of the village (parking included in the rental - IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO APPROACH THE CHALET BY CAR). We therefore recommend that you take adequate bags to transport your belongings to the chalet.

Summer Chalet Escape

Great Bear is a lovely chalet with breathtaking views in a unique environment. I cannot think of a better summer escape, given the stunning surroundings of the Val Hérens, the local cuisine, produce, meat products, and delicious wines. The chalet fits the rustic character of the tiny village perfectly, while affording the necessary comforts for an Alpine stay. Absolutely LOVED IT!!!

Excellent endroit mais communication catastrophique

Chalet et lieu magique Mais communication avec le propriétaire catastrophique! Pas prévenu que l’eau du robinet n’était pas consommable, pas prévenu que des pack d’eau était dispo gratuitement à l’épicerie, lit pas fait et draps mis à disposition déjà utiliser par le client précédent (averti 4 jours plus tard par une dame gérant la location pour le propriétaire)

Merci aux 2 personnes du villages (dame de ménage et son compagnon) qui nous ont réparé le chauffage qui ne fonctionnait pas à notre arrivée ! Proposition de mettre le nom du chalet sur la boîte aux lettres.

Gemütliches Haus

Gemütliches, einfaches Haus, schöne ruhige Lage. Der Zugang ist etwas schwierig (bei Nässe oder Schnee ist es recht mühsam, kein Weg sondern quer durch eine schräge Wiese). Ansonsten aber tolle ruhige Lage mit schöner Aussicht.

3 Tage Wallis auf der Rückreise aus Italien

Etwas abenteuerlich zu erreichen, aber gute Anfahrtsbeschreibung des Vermieters, toller Blick, schönes Tal. Bettwäsche und Endreinigung können dazugebucht werden, Handtücher muss man selber mitbringen.

Die Aussicht von der Terrasse bzw Balkon von den Schlafzimmern ist wunderschön! Die Lage in Villaz ist perfekt, um das Wallis zu erkunden und zudem schön ruhig und abgeschieden.

Un ressourcement idéal

Idéalement situé, ce chalet est à la fois confortable avec une atmosphère intime et un ensoleillement optimal. L'absence de voiture dans les environs et le calme valent largement les quelques minutes de marche pour y accéder! De nombreuses balades directement depuis le chalet.

Vue imprenable, chalet très confortable et typique

Chalet très sympathique et confortable, à chauffer au feu de bois (même si il y a de petits chauffages d'appoint) dans lequel nous avons passé un week-end très agréable. La vue depuis la terrasse est magnifique et le chalet étant un peu au-dessus de Villaz, on jouit d'une très grande tranquillité. A compter que le prix de la réservation n'inclut pas la facture d'électricité, ni le bois.

Cosy winter stay

Although the weather was not perfect for skiing we could still enjoy the snow in a small but beautiful station in Arolla, breakfasts in the sun on the chalet's terrace, afternoons by the fire and eating a lot of cheese from the region. The chalet is great for 4 people and has everything you may need to have a comfortable stay. Definitely recommendable!

Charme rustique

Nous n'avons pas eu de chance avec la météo. Mais au final l'expérience s'est tout de même bien déroulée, regarder la pluie tomber bien au chaud près du vieux poele traditionnel en pierre, manger des raclettes délicieuses avec le fromage acheté au village plus bas dans la vallée (le chalet est équipé du four à raclettes individuelles et du four traditionnel avec la demi meule). Nous imaginons bien que lorsque le soleil est au rendez-vous la terrasse devant le chalet doit être un endroit agréable pour manger à midi et ce n'est que partie remise car nous allons revenir en espérant être plus chanceux!

Silence et paysages

Notre troisième séjour dans ce coin de paradis où chaque saison apporte ses trésors. Ce début mai avec une flore incomparable, les sommets restent enneigés, la vallée est paisible. Merci pour l'ambiance familiale, tout est à disposition et le pierre ollaire assure une bonne chaleur. David s'est montré très serviable pour des conseils de nouvelles randonnées!

J'aime sa situation dominant le village.

Le chalet dans sa simplicité nous offre l'essentiel mais surtout une certaine âme que j 'aime retrouver dans cette région du Val d'Herens. La petite galerie sur laquelle s'ouvre les chambres du haut, la terrasse pour les pauses au soleil, à toute saison, et oui même au coeur de l'hiver. Si le soleil vient à manquer, il y a le charme du pierrolaire! Et le panorama est superbe, quel que soit le côté vers lequel le regard se dirige.
