"This is a great hotel in the middle of Stratford. Easy to drive to . The car park was full so we waited and eventually parked. Check in again was easy. Our room was great well equipped with all the usual toiletries etc The bed was very comfy and had a good nights sleep. We went into the bar at night and they served some great local beers and as residents' we received 10% off. Breakfast again was good as it is served at the table. Well presented and well cooked.
We would stay there again. Great location."
"It's obvious the Hotel was undergoing renovations. When we arrived, it wasn't too obvious where the reception was, which was just a desk in the bar area. Our room was on the 1st floor, when coming out of the lift on that floor a room map would have been really useful. We (and another couple who arrived around the same time) were wondering around like lost souls trying to find our allotted room.
The room itself was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Though there was no evacuation map on the back of the door (though when one stepped into the corridor, the route to safety was obvious). Our sleep was good.
One last observation, when we left our room in the morning. We were loaded with a suitcase and several pieces of luggage. When going through a fire door on the way back to reception. My wife opened the door and held it open for me to follow, only to trip up on a single step down of about 10 cm height. My wife stumbled but didn't fall. A notice on the proceeding fire door would have alerted her to the step. Better signage would have helped.
Having said that, we enjoyed our stay."
"The staff were kind and helpful. There were extra charges for the car park although this was taken off when we complained. The whirlpool was not working. It did not feel good value for money."
"The room is from the 1980's dust and all!!!
The reception staff member I met was so rude and tried to charge me more than the advertised price.
The room was freezing cold, then was given a unsafe heater.
I ordered food from the restaurant, when it came out it had ingredients not mentioned on the menu, that i am intolerant to, so I sent back and replaced with something else, they then tried to charge me for the new meal, I said thats ok could you bring the previous plate out, as if i had paid for it I wanted it, they refused to bring it out. I asked to speak to the manager several times no one would get the manager."
"Poor signage to hotel parking area, dirty stained carpet in bedroom shower so hot much difficulty reducing the temperature
Wedding party at the venue so disturbed frequently through the night by other guests
No soundproofing and lots of banging doors"
