We all enjoyed the breakfast. We had meals in the evening two nights of our stay and would like to commend the waiter Mike who went above and beyond on his duties, very attentive, polite and courteous.

The room we were staying, the decor was tired - not worthy of a 4 star hotel unfortunately. Upon arrival, wardrobe door was hanging off hinges, the wifi receiver box was hanging of the wall - room was also very dark. Durham Retreat 15 minutes walk from Durham City center.
Great place for visiting Durham with easy access to the center. Nice clean place with everything we needed.

The Bothy-Detached cottage,1 mile from Barnard Castle, Pet Friendly, EV Charger
