"Communicating with the host was very easy and they always responded within 24 hours. The checkin process was simple and contactless, very helpful clear instructions with pictures that made it very easy. The only reason I gave this facility 4 stars on location was because it is not "on the beach" if that is what you are looking for. "The location was great being by the little shops and right across the water for a perfect sunset view. The room was very clean and had everything we needed. There was ice available and they provided a few snacks and a couple of waters which was a nice touch. It was a pleasant surprise that they came in and refreshed the towels for the day also."

"Our stay at the Victoria House was very pleasant and delightful. The view was spectacular. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The A/C was excellent to come home to. The bathroom was spacious and up-to-date. If you just so happen to see a pear (avocado) on the ground make sure to pick it up and eat it. SOOOOO YUMMY!! The only thing that might be a con is the number of stairs - older legs got a little tired. A little softer towels might be a request for further stays. Much less important...

"The Buccaneer is an old cattle ranch / sugar plantation converted into a beach/ golf resort. A beautiful setting. I prepaid for a room over a three day stay. At check-in, "Ben" said incidental room charges were $75 per day which would have been $225 on my debit card. I checked my account an hour later. My debit card was charged $2,000 for incidental room/ resort charges! What a shock! The room my wife and I stayed in had no hot water two days in a row ( cold showers ). Only on the third day the problem with the hot water heater was fixed. Hot water finally. The room had water stains on the ceiling that hadn't been fixed. The bathtub stopper was broken. Only showers could be taken. The tub stopper was replaced on the last evening I was there but still didn't work. The complementary breakfast was buffet style and everything was cold but the oatmeal ( cold eggs, cold bacon, cold sausage ). In my opinion, if you stay at this resort, be prepared to be over charged for everything. They say you get what you pay for. I paid a lot and got very little for my money. If I come back to St. Croix, I won't be staying at the Buccaneer to be overcharged for a room."
