"The photos are simply untrue. The camp is in poor condition - broken chairs & lanterns; blankets thrown about; garbage strewn here & there. There is only one outlet in each tent and electricity was not always available. We had less than five minutes of hot water over 48 hours. Often one teenager was the only staff on site, and we had to communicate using Google translate, as the adults simply were not around. "I had an incredible stay in the Merzouga Sahara Desert, at this camp which perfectly situated at the foot of the highest sand dunes and near a beautiful lake. The atmosphere was amazing, the king-sized bed was cozy, and the authentic food was absolutely delicious. Ahmed, the manager, and his team were warmly welcoming and went above and beyond to share the rich history and culture of the desert. I particularly appreciated Ahmed’s insights into fossils and the ancient creatures, like the Mesosaurus and dinosaurs, that once inhabited the area. It was the highlight of my trip to Morocco, and I can’t wait to return with my family soon!"
