The dinner is very expensive because they do not serve only a few of the items on the menu. If you order 2 items from the different classes on the menu They charge for the complete dinner. We were very tired when we arrived and only ordered 4 items from the complete dinner, 1 appetizer 2 bowls of soup and one sweet potato cost over 90 GBP. We were not informed how the pricing worked. The cost came as a bit of a shock because we explained we only wanted something lighter. They also never change the menu, That said, the restaurant was beautiful, the service was excellent and the food was of good quality.
The breakfast menu is lovely and beautifully served and the food was excellent.
The cost of a light dinner is a bit of a shock. Nothing a la carte in the main dining room.
However the pub was totally a la carte, just down a long flight of stairs and a limited menu. The service there was lovely just a limited menu that also doesn't change.
The Manor House is 15 minutes to the city center and if you take cabs it is about 15 GBP per trip, no credit cards only cash. The drivers are very friendly, the cabs are clean and dependable. We were very comfortable staying there and the people running the hotel were superb!"
