We really enjoyed our stay at your cabin!
It was clean, well furnished, cozy and enjoyable... we loved our time there. The grill got used a lot as did the kitchen and couches. It was so nice to get away, refresh and recharge!
Every aspect of our trip was wonderful! Great hosts. Highly responsive and communicative hosts. Great location, out of town but nearby. Time and again we marveled at how well stocked the kitchen, and the rest of the cabin, was. For those not familiar, the Ely area offers tremendous outdoor recreation opportunities for those with a variety outdoor skills and fitness levels. The hosts were a great source of information about the area, and there were numerous maps available at the cabin. Our dog, Fritz, was very welcome, and he had a blast! There are large open areas for dog play which is unusual in that neck of the woods. We are planning our return trip now!
Pam and Phil greeted us when we arrived and gave us great information both about the cabin and things to do. We felt very welcome and our dog absolutely loved running around and jumping in the lake! The week was spent hiking, biking and kayaking and exploring Ely and surrounding. Great week!
We enjoyed our time at this cabin. It has a great kitchen that was probably the most well-appointed of any cabin at which we have stayed. It is, as advertised, on the second floor above a garage in a unique home built by family of the owners. That gives a great view from a high deck, but also means you need to lug your weeks worth of stuff up the stairs. It was clean and homey. Hosts were exceptionally helpful and live in home nearby. We brought a small Lund boat. Although there is an option for putting in by their dock, my suggestion is to use the public dock just a few minutes boat ride away. We loved fishing around the islands in the lake. Great week for our family.
White Iron Hideaway was a great little cabin for our family of four. The dock is easy to access and the bay was wonderful for our sons who were coming to catch walleye and northern pike. All of the largest fish on this trip were caught from the dock rather than out on the lake. The cabin has everything you need and more and the hosts, Pam and Phil are amazingly friendly and kind. If you are looking for an easy place to stay that is convenient to Ely, this is the place. Comfortably slept 2 adults and 2 teens and we could have had at least one more.
My husband and I have stayed in many VRBO locations. This was the best we have ever experienced. The house is close enough to the lake to hear the loons at night and in the morning. There are fields to run the dog off-leash. Pam has everything organized, labeled and available. If it isn't in the house, she will help make available what she can. We experienced quiet and solitude which was much needed. With that said, the house is close enough to town so as to have access to movies, music...shopping. I cannot say enough good about this location.
Excellent place to stay with everything you could want for a great stay. 5 miles to Ely and the fun of the Harvest Moon Festival! Everything was well marked in the kitchen. And a comfortable king size bed!
House was in a perfect location for BWCA day trips. Jesse, our host, even took extra effort to alert us when the northern lights should be visible from our porch. We absolutely loved the house and location. Hope to go there again,
The hosts greeted us as we arrived and showed us around. They very accommodating to our needs. We have family close by that was unable to join us for supper one night so we were able to cook everything and bring it to them. Thank goodness the cabin had everything we needed to do this. They even brought us over a pressure cooker. The log cabin was open and inviting, great views though not real close to the water. It was quiet and serene. Thanks so much for having us.
Had a great time . Cabin very well equipped and hosts very accommodating. Close to where we were fishing so good location. Sunrise on the deck beautiful.
Another great trip to WHite Iron Hideaway. Coffee on the deck looking out over the lake, good fishing and great accommodations. Pam and Phil are wonderful hosts!
Hannie and Cory were wonderful hosts. The cabin had everything we needed and more. We had a great week and caught bunches of Pike. The best spot was right off of the pier.
