About this property

The Purple Cottage@Twin Hills Cottages of Acadia

  • Welcome to Acadia!

Here is your home away from home as you venture out to explore the DownEast of Maine and Acadia National Park!

This is the listing for the 1 bedroom Purple cottage. One of 6 colorful cottages in a row at Twin Hills Cottages of Acadia. A Historic landmark since 1947 on Rt 1 at the gateway to the Acadia area.

Each cottage has its own decor and features a covered porch with sitting area, 1 queen bed, private bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, flat screen TV, and desk space.

There is a BBQ area and Fire Pit in the back yard for shared guest use.

Like a hotel room but with more privacy. Why stay in a regular hotel when you can have your own colorful cottage. Each cottage is its own unique space. Private and comfortable features a covered porch with sitting area, 1 queen bed, private bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, coffee machine, flat screen TV, and desk space.

Guests will have access to their own private cottage as well as use of the grounds. There is a BBQ area and Fire Pit. We provide propane for the grill and the wood and charcoal is bring your own. There is a spot right down the road that sells camp wood. Please leave the area as you found it. Clean up any mess and make sure the fire is expelled completely before leaving it unattended.

    Things to note:
-These cottages are bedrooms only and do not have full kitchens.
-Parking is directly in front of the cottage leaving the gravel road clear for other cars to pass.
-This is one of 7 cottages, 5 apartments and a 4 bedroom house on the property.
-The Internet service is slow in the area, it is OK but can be effected by anything from wind to humidity, even connected directly to the router it can be slow and spotty. We are in a wooded area between two large hills outside of town. The service provider is working to expand its coverage and we can only hope it will get better.

Maine mini vaca

My son and his wife stayed and they loved it! Said it was adorable, a great location and I found the owner so easy to reach and so so helpful! Again another VRBO success for us!

Right off Route 1 and very loud truck and car noise throughout the night and early morning. We were out all day in misty cool weather and really looking forward to a hot shower, there wasn’t even enough hot water for one shower. Very disappointing. Will not stay here again.
