"To be very honest the property is not what I expected from the listing. However, after getting settled in and the excellent communication with the host, the 6-week stay was very pleasant. The host was wonderful and checked on us on a regular basis. Host was very quick to fix any issues and was also very quick in all responses. They made us feel welcome. The neighbors were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this property to someone who is looking for a reasonably priced home to get away and enjoy the Mississippi river area. This place is a good example of "don't judge a book by its cover"."

"Inez and David are excellent hosts - extremely homey environment, excellent breakfast selection, and overall great humans! I stayed in the Bear’s Den for 3 months for work, and I am so happy I chose this bed and breakfast over a hotel. Very quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, driveway parking, great air conditioning, mini fridge in the room. Ask Inez to make cookies they are great! 10/10, would recommend to anyone traveling through Burlington, IA."
