Spent 4 nights here with family. The cabin is exactly as described, comfortable for us…6 adults and 5 children aged 2-9…. Roomy basement for the kids to play.
Super convenient location for our family to stay for the weekend while enjoying a day at the festival, a day at a local winery, and time to enjoy the area. Spacious and clean. Super easy to check in and out and even get some extra information about the house. Way more supplies, amenities, and gadgets for cooking and comfort than many houses!
Living 300 miles apart my sisters and I met here for a weekend to catch up and enjoy the Apple Festival in Ellijay. We hung out in the cabin most of the time, ordered food in. The kids and young adults enjoyed the basement area and games in the closet. We got to see lots of deer on the property. We enjoyed really enjoyed the weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin was very nice and clean and the perfect layout for our family (3 couples, adult children, and a few tweens).
We had a great time. It was close to the Apple Festival, Goldrush Festival, Burt's pumpkin farm, and Apple Orchards.
The house is lovely and the deer friendly.
Lovely spacious home with wonderful rocking chair front porch to enjoy the beauty of nature! This was our second stay and we really find this house the perfect girls’ getaway. Excellent location for hiking, quaint towns and apple picking!
Our family had a great stay in this clean, beautiful cabin. Very large and spacious. It was close to downtown Ellijay. We enjoyed seeing the deer in the morning. I highly recommend staying here.

Family Reunion in the Mountains...
Just returned from a visit to Bear Hugs Cabin in Ellijay, where we hosted a family reunion. The cabin was spacious, clean, and well-appointed. None of that "essentials only" vacation rental feeling at Bear Hugs. Would recommend to anyone!

Wonderful stay!!!
We had a wonderful time at Bear Hugs cabin. It was beautifully decorated, very clean, and very comfortable. Donna provides anything and everything you need. We felt like we were at home. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone. Thank you for everything Donna!! We made wonderful memories.
We had a great family visit. Although we had winter storm worries, we never lost power. We did get to experience some snow. Donna was great to work with and communicated well. We had a great visit and look to return in future.

More furniture needed upstairs. Heat needed downstairs.
There was not enough seating in the upstairs living room and the basement was freezing so nobody wanted to stay down there.
My family stayed here for 4th of July weekend 2019. The cabin was very clean and spacious and exactly as pictured. We received detailed instructions from the owner. The yard was more overgrown than I expected based on the picture, which is my only complaint. Compared to other properties in the community there was minimal landscaping, lots of weeds and even felled trees and cut up tree trunks left in the yard. The cabin is also down in a hollow with steep hills to the front and back and a steep driveway. Wasn’t ideal for kids playing outside. The cabin was located in a quiet section but with 2 pools nearby within a short drive, one within about a half mile walk. Downtown Ellijay was a short drive away. The cabin was clean and well stocked.
Most difficult check in process I have ever encountered. No hot water only lukewarm. Had to heat water on the stove just to fill the bath tub. Many broken things like the microwave handle and refrigerator drawer and trash can. Beds are like rocks and paper thin blankets. The house is nice and decently furnished but the bare minimum is provided which made it a hassle to bring all the things with us. The resort is lovely. Plenty of wildlife and natural beauty.
If you go in the winter be prepared for the first day to be freezing. It was 50 degrees in the house when we arrived and took a solid day to warm up to 68. Not surprising with the paper thin walls. If you dont mind the hassle and slight inconvenience the price is right I guess.
