  • This charming original chink log cabin, “River’s Edge” built in 1910, sits on almost an acre of riverfront property. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 bath, laundry room, large master bedroom, 2 fireplaces, free WiFi, modern TVs, DVD’s with DVD library. Sleeps 6. The large screened in front porch is superb for dining or reading a book. The property has a large deck overlooking the river, a spacious fire pit area, gas and charcoal grills, and a 6 person hot tub. Look us up on FB to find out about the many year round activities: fishing, tubing, golfing, skiing, snowboarding, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, mountain biking and spelunking. The local restaurants, bars, and live music will provide your stay with excellent entertainment and great local cuisine. The only pets we allow are dogs that are house trained.

Cozy cabin, close to many hiking trails. Cabin has everything you need. The bathroom is updated and the shower has nice water pressure. Everything was clean and was great having a large tv above the fireplace in both the living room and bedroom.

Fishing Getaway

We love River's Edge...this was our 6th time visiting. The fishing is great...a big plus for our 3 boys. There are lots of things to do nearby...train ride in Elkins, biking, hiking, Senca Rocks, Canaan Valley, Blackwater Falls, ect.

The Perfect Getaway!

Our family of four had a super fun and relaxing time at the cabin. The setting is perfect. Quiet and beautiful on the river. The log cabin is awesome, and the hot tub and fire pit and deck were much enjoyed. The scenic mountain train ride out of Elkins is fun! Thank you for the great stay and for the easy communication with host.

A Special Place!

I love this cabin! It’s such a great and well preserved original cabin, but also offers newer amenities like washer/dryer and AC. The deck overlooking the river is so great. You’ll find an extremely well equipped kitchen, fishing rods, firewood, river access, tons of towels, super nice hot tub, I could go on and on, they’ve thought of everything. I would definitely stay here again!

The Rivers Edge

Very peaceful and relaxing stay! We thoroughly enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer. Whether casting a line or just sitting on the deck, watching the wildlife and listening to the river, we had a wonderful time. We’re already talking about coming back next summer. Tiffany is an excellent host! Thank you for your hospitality.

Uncomfortable

Rustic is one thing. But the dimly lit, unusually narrow and attep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms was unsafe. The fire extinguisher in the kitchen was empty. We found 2 in a cabinet in the laundry room but, had there been a fire, it is unlikely we would have found them in an emergency. Lovely location,

Very nice but needs some maintenance

Shower backed up immediately as well as the sink, bought some strong Drano ourselves and it cleared the clog. The toilet seat was always covered with condensation so we had to keep wiping it off. Could use some new bath towels and bed spread…little things like that could use a refresh. The upstairs is very creaky and feels unsafe to walk on and the steps are very dangerous. The porch needs all new screening and the screen doors are pretty old. The rest of the house is great, but could use a thorough cleaning. It was confusing as how to regulate the heat and the living room and kitchen were very cold. I do feel like most cabins we’ve stayed at tend to have the same issues and I understand a lot of people come and go and make messes, so I get it…and we did love the place. The view was amazing as well as the jacuzzi. The TVs are great and the furniture was nice as well as the bed. I hope this review was not offensive…we loved the cabin, we know renters cause damage, just wanted to offer feedback so things can be easier on the owners too and make their cabin the best rental in the area. Even though we had some issues to list, we totally would come back again. We loved the bedroom the most! It was huge and the fireplace was the best! The dining table area was so cute and nicely decorated. There could a better way to locate the property. It was so hard to find and there was no actual sign indicating the name of the cabin.

This quaint cabin right on Shavers Fork was a dream stay for our little family! My son, who recently started fly fishing, had the time of his life catching a variety of fish over our long weekend stay. We enjoyed family meals in the well stocked kitchen and on the charcoal grill (thanks for providing all the extras for grilling). Thank you again for sharing this beautiful, historical cabin with us!

Easy, that’s the first word that comes to mind. The hospitality of the host, the overall comfort and well supplied cabin, the ideal location, several fishing spots on the property. Couldn’t ask for a better get away for our family. So quiet and peaceful in the evenings and at night. Cabin has so much character while also having access to modern amenities makes your stay….Easy.

If you're looking for a fancy, luxurious cabin, this isn't for you. But if you're looking for an authentic cabin with character, this is it! We loved our stay there! A realistic cabin stay with modern amenities, huge master bedroom, 2 fireplaces, complimentary firewood, deck overlooking the river, clean and functioning hot tub, and an owner that quickly responds. It has it's flaws...uneven, creaky floors, doors that don't quite fit right...but it was perfect for us! And the sound of the rain on the metal roof was great! We loved it! Beware, the little wooden bridge is slippery when wet... don't ask how we know! Lol

We had such a peaceful and memorable stay at this rustic log cabin by the river. The setting is absolutely beautiful — quiet, scenic, and perfect for unwinding. This property was described exactly as it is. And it was amazing. Communication with the owner was top notch. I couldn't be happier with the cabin and its properties. I wish I would have caught more fish.But that's my fault, not the properties. I will definitely be staying there again.
