About this property
Fantastic "Black Bear Cabin" In Lynn Valley
Hundreds of 5 star reviews tell the story. The possibilities are endless in this fully furnished rustic and unique log cabin. You'll never find another cabin with unique features like this one has in East Tennessee. The cabin is less than 5 miles from everything but also has a country charm and feel. Its located in the beautiful Lynn Valley area of Elizabethton TN, a highly sought after area that the Watauga River flows through. Enjoy your morning coffee on the front porch looking out at the peaceful pond right out front. The two pond fountains sound amazing and add tranquility. This one bedroom one bath cabin has been meticulously maintained and is always meticulously cleaned and rental ready. 5 Blocks from the Watauga River, some of the best trout fishing in the entire country is feet away. Wireless internet, Samsung 75" Ultra 4k UHDTV with surround sound, 42" HDTV in master bedroom, excellent cell service (AT&T), outdoor fire pit/ grill combo and a Charbroil electric grill. The futon in the den will sleep two more (double bed), master bedroom sleeps two (King). Dish Network satellite HDTV service with more than 200 channels to chose from.
Update: 8/3/2023 The cabin was just re-stained, as well as the wood around the pond, 15 green giants were added, 30 led landscape lights, and landscaping timbers, as well as the fire pit.
We updated the entire cabin in 2022 with all new leather furniture in the den. We used a local interior designer to give the cabin a complete makeover. The leather couch has two recliners, plus there is a single leather recliner. All of the ceiling fans and outdoor light fixtures are brand new. The bedroom was updated with new flooring, paint, new king size bedroom suit and decor. We added a 24,000 BTU HVAC mini split system for heat and air, which is very quiet and comfortable. The mantle is an amazing piece of artwork that looks like museum. We also installed a 5 x 10 dog kennel behind the cabin with a dog house. We added landscape lighting around the cabin as well as solar lighting around the pond. It is amazing at night! The cabin features unique trophy heads including a Moose, Red Stag, Deer, Antelope, Turkey and Fish. The trophies were shot by William Crawford who built the cabin in 2005.
Its an incredible location at the base of a mountain, and it faces another mountain. There are no cabins next to you or behind you, and a huge field for dogs to play in. The cabin has a brand new metal roof and was just re-stained. The pond gets water from a newly installed solar pump and the pond fountain is also powered by solar energy. The pond was completely rebuilt in the fall of 2021 and spring of 2022, with a brand new liner and new wood all the way around, stained to match the cabin. The old fences seen in some photos have been removed and soon green giant trees will be planted along the roadway. Please don't throw trash or any debris into the pond. The best fishing is 1000 feet away on the Watauga River. You can park at Riverside Baptist church and fish the river anytime except during church hours.

Cabin was beautiful, warm, and host was very welcoming. Host is actually local unlike alot of cabins in east TN. He came and checked on our heat because we had a cold snap while there. The town is nice. So many options for local dining. Food City just minutes away to pick up a steak and grill if ya want. We fell in love with the area and people. Will definitely return when it's warm to check out the lake.
Very nice property, Mike was a great host and let us know if we needed anything to let him know, great location and easy to get to, we had a very nice time exploring the area and visiting all the neighboring towns and hiked some gorgeous areas and to top it off the weather was absolutely beautiful the whole time we were there, thanks Mike for your hospitality
We loved our stay! It was one of the cleanest rentals we have ever stayed in. The host was quick to respond to any questions and kept us informed up to and during our visit. Definitely recommend!
This is a wonderful cabin with a terrific host. Mike was great at communicating with us and answering any questions right away. The cabin is lovely with gated front Pritchard, pond with fountain and plenty of room to play with our dog! It was a perfect location for our needs. Thank you Mike.
The cabin was awesome and the hosts went way out of their way to make sure we were satisfied. I highly recomend this listing. The trout fishing was the best I have ever seen.tofishingtrfishing.
We loved staying at Black Bear. The cabin is in perfect shape and very clean. We made sure to keep it that way. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The location feels remote, but is close to Bristol and the drive up over the pass to NC is great, with a nice section of the AT to hike.
I can't say enough fabulous things about this cabin. Our stay was just so perfect. We had two small pups with us as well. Beautifully decorated for Christmas and great location to town. Will be back again for sure. Highly r
Great views of the mountains yet still close to town. Every detail at the cabin was first class. Property manger was quick to respond to any questions. Clean, well maintained cabin.
Couldnt ask for a nicer cabin and a better host mike is great and your stay is guaranteed to be nice and relaxing. The cabin and pond make for an amazing place to relax and enjoy the mountains
Absolutely the most relaxing and worry free trip I have every experienced. Cabin is perfect and had exactly as posted amenities. PO was very accessible and checked in several times to ensure we had no problems. As an added treat, seven deer standing in the yard the morning we departed.
The cabin is immaculate and convenient. The owner is readily accessible and easy to work wit.He wasthe best! WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! But,didn't bother you during your stay. Would HIGHLYto work with. He was super good to us!
This place is awesome…. If your a trout fisherman or just looking to relax in a country setting this is it! Just about a 100 yard walk from the Watauga river! Great Host
This is a very beautiful cabin with plenty of space inside. It would be perfect for a group, but also cozy enough if you just want a little getaway for 2. There's lot's of places to eat and grocery stores close by if you need anything. The owner was also very accommodating.
We loved this cabin. My husband and I were in town to fish for a few days. We floated the Watagua and it was so convenient, I was able to hop off the boat, walk a few minutes to the cabin and let our dogs out for a potty break before hopping back on the boat to finish out our float! Close to grocery stores and food too.
Great place, very clean, had everything we needed! The dogs loved it too. Unfortunately it rained Saturday off and on but we still enjoyed ourselves. Loved the horses and they loved our apples. Thanks for a great place to stay. We will try to come back when we have more time.
We loved the cabin and our stay. Mike was wonderful to work with.
There are horses next door that are super friendly, the fish feeding was a nice experience. Overall it was a great experience.
