"Da vi ankom var der ingen i receptionen. Måtte bruge tid på at ringe til flere forskellige numre ingen vi fik kontakt og vi kunne komme ind. Vi havde bestilt et superior værelse. Værelset var iskoldt og vi måtte lade aircondition køre på max hele natten for at holde varmen. Hele hotellet var koldt. Toilettet var så lille, at når man sad på Toilettet kunne døren ikke lukkes. Badeværelset var meget lille og kold"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in El Cerezo?
The best area to stay in El Cerezo is the historic Old Town, particularly around Plaza Mayor.

This area is the heart of El Cerezo, characterized by its narrow, cobblestone streets and traditional Andalusian architecture. Plaza Mayor, a beautiful open square, is a natural gathering point, surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and local shops. The town's main church, Iglesia de San Juan Bautista, is also located here, offering a glimpse into local heritage. It's incredibly walkable, making it easy to explore on foot.

Couples will find the Old Town particularly appealing for a romantic getaway. The charming streets are superb for leisurely strolls, and there are many intimate restaurants offering local cuisine. The evenings are pleasant, with the soft glow of streetlights creating a lovely backdrop for dinner or a drink.

For those looking for a slightly quieter experience while still being central, the streets just off Calle Real, leading away from the Plaza Mayor, offer a peaceful alternative. Here, you'll find boutique hotels and guesthouses located in residential areas, providing a calm retreat after a day of exploring.
When is the best time to go to El Cerezo?
The best time to go to El Cerezo, Andalusia, Spain, is during the spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, making it ideal for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

Spring offers mild temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 25°C, with the countryside in full bloom. This is superb for those who enjoy hiking in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park or exploring the white villages (pueblos blancos) nearby, such as Ronda or Grazalema, without the intense heat of summer. It's also a great time for couples seeking a romantic getaway, with fewer crowds than in the peak summer months.

Autumn provides similar comfortable temperatures, usually between 20°C and 28°C, and the landscape takes on beautiful golden hues. This season is particularly appealing for travellers interested in local culture and gastronomy, as it often coincides with grape harvests and olive pressing, offering opportunities to visit local bodegas and olive mills.
