The spa is really amazing. The area is good for resting and walking. The amenities are not the quality and the type expected, but it’s not really so important.

This is the worst place we stayed in Spain. Probably the worst place we’ve stayed in years. It claims to be a good hotel because it is a renovated monastery with a spa (architecture is beautiful) but it’s lack of customer service and basic hotel amenities make this hotel a 3-star at its best. 1. Horrible customer service experience. Staff act like they are doing you a favor when speaking to you and give you attitude when you ask questions. 2. Staff had no information (or knowledge) about the hotel itself or the area (beyond the small town). The only comment they kept repeating was that our room fee didn’t include the spa, which we already knew. How about what it includes? We received attitude when we asked about wineries around the Duero area. Staff was rude and told us there were no wineries close by. We knew we were not in the most centric wine area like Peñafiel, but we are within an hour of world-known wines here! We came here (out of the way) thinking the hotel was better than other options around the whole Duero area (what a mistake). 3. Bad for children. Our kid was invisible at this place. Kids area is never open. Outdoor pool was not mentioned to us. There was no water for her in room (2 small bottles for the whole stay), etc. 4. No basic amenities such as conditioner, body lotion, water, coffee maker/kettle, in the room. As mentioned above, the room included two small water bottles for the whole stay and the empty bottles were left in the room. 5. In-room dinni

As we were spoken yesterday in person I feel terribly sorry to know that your experience with us was negative. Regarding the customer experience related, I feel terribly sorry to know that you felt like that, our first goal is our guests’ satisfaction, so we will use your commentaries to improve our quality. Reference the wine’s information we are sorry to know that our information given was not enough, it is true that the Duero’s River is a famous wine’s area, but in this area the famous winery begin in San Esteban de Gormaz (10 minutes by car). Also, we informed you our collaboration with “Lagar de Isilla” winery, we are sorry to knot that you did not chose this option. Moreover, as I informed you personally, our children area open Saturday and Sunday. We have this information in the main children area door, in the rooms and at reception. We are sorry to know that this issue was not positive for you. About the amenities mentioned, I explained you that Castilla Termal has a non-plastyc policy and we offered our guest the best eco option to enjoy the experience with us. Also, we have all amenities need at your disposal at reception. Finally, we hope you trust Castilla Termal in the future, as I informed you we have another hotel called “Castilla Termal Monasterio de Valbuena” very close to the best wineries in the world. Just great. Really well presented and maintained hotel, stylish and beautiful rooms with a sumptuous breakfast buffet as well. The thermal spa is also a must-do (a bit weird for us Brits..but that's more about us than any reflection on the massive jaccuzzi that it is..) but the hotel would be great even without it.

Absolutely beautiful place. On arrival we were told the pool was closed being the end of season. A couple of hours later we were at the bar and a gentleman asked us if we liked the hotel, we said we did but were disappointed the pool was closed as the days were still warm (end of September) he happened to be the manager and immediately said he would reopen the pool for the rest of our stay which was 4 days. We thought that was a nice gesture on his part. Area in and around town have beautiful scenery and architecture.

i specifically booked this hotel to take advantage of the facilities yet upon arrival and asking about them i was then told they were closed for the week. there was no notice on their website, on expedia, or communicated to me in anyway after making my reservation. it's a basic hotel off a busy road and i would have rather stayed anywhere else had i known the one draw was unavailable. the room smelled faintly of smoke but was large. i had a view of an alley.

Old world modern charm
Very impressed with the quality and beauty of the place. Superb mixture of old and new worlds. Wonderful center courtyard with plenty of seating areas. Food was good. Excellent breakfast with great variety of fruits as well as a big selection of food items specialties of the area. Big room with views of the cathedral. Underground parking with convenient entrance to the hotel. Will highly recommend it!

Very smart hotel in attractive town
My wife and I stayed here for one night on our way to Salamanca . The hotel occupied an old University building with an most impressive internal space . Buffer breakfast was excellent and staff were very good

Got junior suite, though it was large it was somewhat uncomfortable as bed is upstairs while living area/ washroom is on main floor. Washroom is open to living room, allowing odours, humidity, etc to enter. WiFi in room was unreliable all weekend. Breakfast buffet was great. Asked for room service one night, arrived cold. Thermal pool was quite enjoyable as was massage. Town is small, has a few options for eating, castle in ruins nearby about the only attraction.

Chose this hotel for the lovely spa facilities - even rang ahead and booked a massage - but on arrival found out that you have to be in a group, staff told us minimum 4 max 8 people , info in our room said minimum 6 ! You also have to pay a minimum of 30 euros per person.

Very comfortable rooms in a lovely old building. There is a very nice traditional restaurant (Virrey) next door. A shame that the swimming pool was not yet open end May.

Wonderful place to stay
This is a superb hotel situated minutes from the charming centre of town. The restaurant and bar areas are extremely attractive and service was excellent. Wi-fi in the room was very good. Shutters on the bedroom windows kept out all of the light and any noise from outside.I would recommend this hotel very highly.

very nice hotel, comfortable and well situated. the only thing we were not told beforehand was that the thermal baths were extra, so that turned out expensive because we had little time to enjoy them. Otherwise, very satisfied and the hotel itself was reasonably priced.

Very comfortable hotel in lovely part of Spain
A very nice hotel with all modern facilities but situated around a beautifully restored (now covered) cloister (where breakfast/cafeteria area, bar and lounges are tastefully located). Fantastic choice in breakfast buffet and nice outdoor pool (much nicer than the 'thermal cloister' under the actual cloister which is really just a glorified jacuzzi). The town is very pleasant and the surrounding area delightful.

Al llegar nos informaron que no podríamos utilizar el claustro (Cafetería, bar, etc.), porque se iba a celebrar una boda y que estaría cerrado desde las 15,00 horas hasta las 22,00, y que posteriormente podríamos utilizarlas. Pero fue totalmente falso, ya que estuvo cerrado toda la tarde y noche, es decir, todo el tiempo. Además hubo todo el tiempo de la celebración música, gritos y ruidos exagerados no pudiendo disfrutar de un descanso en ningún momento dentro de la habitación. Considero que deberían haber informado a la hora de reservar la habitación de dicho evento.

Buenos dias, he estado 4 o 5 veces y es un remanso de paz, en general. ahora bien ultimamente la limpieza deja mucho que desear , tuvimos que llamar ala servicio de limpieza, por varias carencias. Luego te encasillan en un horario para el SPA, sin preguntar , me acomodaron de 15 a 17 h , y entre en el hotel a las 17 h ? bastante llamativo, te acloplan zapatillas , sin preguntar numeros de calzado, me pusiros un 42 y calzo un 46 , alucinante, gracias

El establecimiento precioso. Pero no le pongo más nota porque: 1. Las habitaciones del tercer piso tienen ventana en el techo por la que no ves nada y la ventana lateral es un ventanuco enano 2. El spa tiene casi todas las zonas de chorro demasiado fuertes y mucha gente en la sesión de 7 a 9, por la mañana de 9 a 11 genial, mucho nenos concurrido.

Excelente experiencia.
Estancia por primera vez. Y con ganas de repetir, a pesar de la distancia. Muy buen buffet, habitación, muy limpia, hotel perfecto, personal amable. Por poner una pega, en el Spa no va incluido ni sauna, ni baño turco, ni cubo, ni hielo, ni piscinas de contraste temperatura. En otros balnearios como el de Puente Viesgo va todo incluido, aquí sí lo tienen pero va con pago a parte.
