"Great location to Pere Marquette trails. An easy drive to the West Coast. Cottage was cute, clean, cozy. Hot tub was scrupulously clean and ready to relax in. The lake is within an easy walk from the cottage. Wish we'd had more time to enjoy it! Very quiet neighborhood. Great host communication."

"This was a great place to stay on our recent trip to Evart. We gave 5 stars for the areas of staff (very helpful and friendly) and cleanliness; our room was immaculate, and the rest of the hotel was very clean as well. This hotel is a bit dated and the carpet was worn in a few places, but the excellent staff, cleanliness, and convenient location (right next to the Osceola County Fairgrounds) more than made up for that. We plan to stay here again!"

"My family and I loved our time at Black Bear, and we hated to leave! The lake was warm. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The pool was wonderful and larger than I expected. We had everything we needed and more. Even the neighbors were friendly. Connie responded quickly to any questions we had. The surprise gift delivery was such a nice touch. We had a little issue with the spa, and Connie was quick to make things right. Thank you so much Connie!"

"The cabin was very clean and well cared for. We appreciated the charm of the original wood floors, walls, and the cute antique metal table. We had everything we needed. The only thing we would like to see, is more wall hooks in the bedroom. The drawers under the bed are cool, but we like to hang more clothing up. The beach area was great."

"The home was very clean! We enjoy eating in and they had everything from pots and pans, baking pans, cooking utensils to dinnerware and wine glasses...well stocked kitchen. The AC worked very well and we were so grateful for it as it was HOT while we stayed there. Nice cool creek right in the back yard and trees to hang a hammock on. Comfortable bed and plenty of pillows and towels."

"Great place to stay! The kids 5&2 really enjoyed themselves. They were sad to leave. It was a nice place to stay for 4th of July, thank you! My daughter enjoyed going on the kayak & the swimming time, my 2 year old love the “fox bed” & the swim time."

"The property was beautiful and the hot tub was great. On top of that, the beach is a private little thing, only for certain residents in that area. There's a Putt putt place about half an hour out that's also really cool and fun. I will say, it's a little bit smaller than I expected (fully a me thing) and, if you wanted to sleep all 8 people, you would probably have to bring your own air mattress or two. It really depends on people's willingness to share beds. All in all, it's a great place to escape from reality for a bit and we're already talking about going again next year."
