  • These woods offer a great hiking trail along old forest trails and streams. There are plenty of places to fish and while I was there I met a few people bolder climbing. This is an old fireplace about three miles into the trail. The original house dated back to the early to mid eighteen hundreds. Originally this was a one room house where the only source of heat is the only part still standing.

Property was as advertised. Check-in was easy and property was clean. There was no check out instructions but we just took dirty towels and sheets off beds. Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

Family vacation

We enjoyed our stay away from home .This place is our favorite place to stay. Plenty of things to do. Fish, Kayak,swim,card games, grilling, sitting around the fire making marshmallows or telling stories and making memories.The only suggestion would be to include instructions on how to access keys front porch keys in order to enter home.

This was a quaint little house on the lake. It was perfect for my husband and I since we were visiting our daughter at GCSU for the weekend. VERY clean and comfortable.

Family Vacation

Amazing location. Lots of activities. We kayaked,fished,swam, jumped off the dock,played cards. We truly enjoyed our time away with family. Wifi was great. Fishing off the dock was good. Fire pit was great for s'mores and firefly watching at night. We rented boat from Marina which was like 15 min boat ride. We ordered delivery for dinner. House is within 20min distance from grocery store.

House is lovely, comfortable, and well appointed. Unfortunately it's really close to the highway, which made it too noise to enjoy peace on the screen porch, which was one of the reasons we chose it. Beyond that, we did have multiple problems with check in (took 40 minutes to be able to enter the property) and a leak in upstairs ceiling, causing our guests to have to shower in our bathroom. (These issues ARE fixable and customer service was responsive.) Due to rain storm on first night, we had no internet access. They provided two good quality kayaks and kayaking around the pretty cove was a highlight.

Our NO stay

We didn’t get to stay. We arrived @ 4.30. Check in time was at 4:00. They gave us the wrong entry code. Kept texting with someone from Vacasa about a hour. Finally got the correct code. Got inside and The house had not been cleaned from previous guest. Beds had sheets pillows all piled in the the middle of beds. Trash not emptied. Used cup and potato chip bag on nightstand. Pillows on the floor in one bedroom. I have pictures to prove it all. We left and stayed gone 4 hours for them to clean. We went back around 8:00 and the house still not cleaned. I have requested a refund. We left went to town and rented a motel for the night. Came back home the next morning. Not the way we planned our 41st anniversary. I just want my money back and never book through Vacasa hostess again. Hope the next guests have a better experience than we did. I have never been disappointed with Vrbo app

Cleaning and pest control need to be better

Little roaches, not the large flying water bugs. And no I didn't contact anyone because seriously, what's the point? They sent a message when we checked in asking if everything was clean. I responded that the sheets had not been washed in one of the rooms. I changed them with a set that I found in a closet that at least smelled like they had been washed. The comforter in this same room was yucky & didn't appear to have been washed ever. Coverlets that can be washed are a must in my opinion for rental properties. The enclosed outside area had not been cleaned at all. The carpet in this area was littered with various food bits, mostly roasted peanuts. It appeared that Someone may have spat out some chewed peanuts on the table & one of the seats. They apologized & said they would contact the cleaning crew. I'm not sure what happened, but we never heard a peep. The 2nd night, I was up on the middle of the night & saw the first roach in the bathroom. The 3rd night when I was leaving the kitchen, there was one on the counter. This morning when we checked out there was one crawling across the kitchen counter. I have no idea how many it takes to say it's a problem for other people, but for me it's one. With a better cleaning crew, pest control, and some new linens this house would be a 10.The Good: The location was great, the house is a perfect blend of spacious & cozy. It's beautiful. Would I rent again? Probably not because I'm freaked out by bugs.
