Up north, East Tawas cabin. This 1 bedroom 1 bath cabin is located 5 miles from downtown East Tawas.

East Tawas has plenty to offer! Everything from shopping, eating, golfing and a pier to walk down to see the beautiful view of Lake Huron.

The space
There is a living area furnished with a couch, a smart TV and a kitchen table.

The kitchen has a fridge, stove, microwave, toaster and Keurig coffee maker. It is stocked with plates, bowls, cups, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, cutting board and a strainer.

Great place for our getaway.

Great economical place to visit. We were close to town, shops, grocery store, and restaurants. We had everything we needed and more. It seemed to be recently remodeled and was so CLEAN! We would visit again!

This little cabin was clean and well stocked. Everything we needed was there. For the price it was perfect. It reminded me of the guest cottage we stayed in when I was young, before motels. The only negative was the hard beds and the hard couch. But all in all I can certainly recommend this cute little cottage. I would rent it again.

Summer getaway

Everything was very clean. The bed was comfortable. It was a short drive to Tawas or Oscoda which was perfect for we had things going in both towns.

Second time i stayed here. Enjoyed it a lot. Only problem I had was i could get the Roku to work right but that could of been my fault. Thanks for a great time.

There was no a/c and it was 96 degrees outside. The only source of cooling was 2 fans provided. The curtains were sheer with other blinds so privacy was non existant. The floors and windows were updated and the couch and beds were comfortable. The appliances worked well. Very close quarters to other cabins and no parking room. The beach access was nice but not able to swim due to large rocks across the whole area. Seemed like it would be risky swimming. Overall it was an ok place to stay but could use some serious remodeling.

We’d come back!

We enjoyed our anniversary weekend get away at the Sumac! The cabin was cute and clean! A huge bonus! Just perfect for what we needed to relax and enjoy being away. We definitely will consider coming back, given the opportunity! Just a few things I’d like to suggest; some sort of shade/blinds for the windows, even just the old school pull down ones (although super cute; you can see through the curtains at night with the lights on), a smaller table lamp for the living room, and ice cube trays. Other than that, perfect! ❤️

Cabin experience

The lake view is barely existent. The cabin is not right on the beach. There are houses blocking the lake view. Cabin looked so much bigger in the pictures. Very small. Tv didn’t work. There were mice. Cabin wasn’t as clean.
