The Aspen Art House - 3 bed by Glacier Natl. Park

  • Forget your worries in this spacious & serene space 15 mins from Glacier National Park on the edge of Lewis & Clark National Forest. The Aspen House, a former art studio & gallery, features 3 beds, 2 living areas, 1.5 baths, & is a perfect staging spot for your hikes into the Park or just as a wilderness getaway. The property features the Cedar Cabin next door which is also available for stays, wildlife like deer and moose (& the occasional bear), and a large pond home to dozens of bird species. The downstairs of the Aspen House features the kitchen and a living/dining area as well as the master bedroom, full bath with tiled shower, and a W/D. Upstairs there is another large living area with an entertainment station, as well as two more bedrooms and half bathroom. All bedrooms have queen beds, and the full, pull-out futon in the upstairs living area provides an additional sleeping space. There is unlimited, high-speed internet available at the houses (a given nowadays in most places, but not out here). PLEASE NOTE: Because the house is a former art studio and gallery it only has one shower. The property is located on a well-traveled gravel road just off Hwy. 89 approximately 1.2 miles southwest of East Glacier. There is ample parking on the property and is clearly marked, as is the short driveway leading to it. This property is located on the Heart Butte Cutoff (aka Cutacross) Road, a well-traveled gravel road just outside of East Glacier Park Village. The residents living in this area are very friendly, and you'll probably see people walking their dogs along the road. The turnoff for the Heart Butte Cutoff Road is approximately 1.2 miles SW of East Glacier on the left-hand side of Hwy. 2 going towards Kalispell. If you're coming from Kalispell, the turnoff is after the turnoff to Bison Creek Ranch, on the right-hand side of Hwy. 2. Once you're on the road, look for signs for "Midvale Creek" on the left-hand side of the road, after you enter the trees, approximately two miles from the turnoff at Hwy. 2. The St. Mary Entrance to Glacier National Park is 33 miles or about 50 minutes away driving (the road is a bit windy), and the Two Medicine Entrance is 10 miles or 10-15 minutes away from the property. Reservation ticketed entry is not required before 6am and after 3pm (May 26 through Sept. 10) or with reservations in the Park - check out their website for updated info. Unfortunately as this property was recently converted for use as short-term rentals, alterations have not yet been made to accommodate those with special accessibility needs.
