It was a great place to stay! We were able to keep our boat at the dock there which was perfect. We had a small issue with cleanliness in the room which was taken care of quickly. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Recommend staying here!
Rooms and property were clean and the resort is on a great location with many opportunities for fishing and boating, including a private lake. Will definitely stay here again.
Great location. Saw lots of wildlife (deer, eagles, etc.). Nice that folks could bring their dogs but the barking is annoying to some of us (we are cat people, though). One thng to note: the resturant hours are somewhat limitted - go early to it if you want food and the place at the end of the road closes its kitchen 15 minutes before they post the kitchen closes. We arrived after 8 for check in and had to eat what we brought for breakfast for dinner as we didn't want to head back to town. Overall, a good property.
The rooms are small but clean except for the spiderwebs at the ceiling. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice. They give you enough pillows too. The view is great. Sitting on the deck in the morning, watching the boats go by while I eat my breakfast is so relaxing. They are a pet friendly motel that charges $25/ night which gets expensive if you spend a week there. Otherwise it was a lovely stay.
Loved this place! Less commercial vs. other hotels and has the charm of a 70’s Inn. Room was comfortable and fairly basic but good value. The beer garden deck was nice just to sit back and relax and watch the boats go by. I would highly recommend this Inn and we will definitely be back.
The room was clean and the Lake view was very nice. What i didn't like about our room was that the bathroom was so very small. The shower was hardly big enough to turn around in. The large king bed was very comfy.
Thank you
Barb
My family has been coming here for 40 years and while I hadn’t been in 20, it’s still a great experience. We stayed in the 50’s rooms and while small, the room was updated, clean, and comfortable with views of the lake. My children enjoyed the sandy beach and playground and there is plenty of room to walk and relax on the property with gorgeous views. The bier garden, bar, and restaurant are great amenities and classic Northwoods Wisconsin. So glad to see this place still thriving.
Great location for our weekend of snowmobiling. Easy access to trails, allowed us to park vehicle and trailer before and after check in & out, and staff was kind and helpful! Would definitely stay again!
We loved our overnight stay at The Chanticleer. We had book the reservation for the wrong day and the owner(?) was very accommodating in helping us resolve 5he issue. The Inn itself was such a quaint peaceful throwback - reminding us of childhood trips long ago. Beautiful lake views from our room and a spot on dinner recommendation rounded out a perfect evening stop on our way to UP for a little getaway. Highly recommend The Chanticleer for families couples or anyone just wanting to unwind and commune….
We were there during non-peak season, staff was excellent in communicating check in and instructions. Room was super comfortable. We will definitely be going back.

We had a small room in the fifties building and at night while the a/c was running, it was very loud and turned on and off many times w/in an hours time so our sleep was very interrupted. The deck and view we had was great overlooking the water.
The electricity went out, just after taking a shower, to go to diner, and the main lodge was on a generator. Had to go there in a back room to dry my hair. They soon after closed down so no amenities were available to the patrons the rest of the night. Ice had to be grabbed from a small freezer in the main lodge which was a walk from our room. Not convenient!. It was unfortunate the timing of the electricity going out otherwise our experience may have been more positive.
Overall, the property needs a lot of TLC, the parking areas have major potholes and broken up blacktop. grounds need work, very uneven walking to the water. The units have tiny bathrooms but are updated. Bed was comfy. Love the bar room!
