Tucked into the tranquil woods on the shores of Eagle Lake, Homewood Cottage is a warm, welcoming hideaway nestled in the heart of Haliburton. From the moment you turn off the quiet lane and pull into the drive, there's a sense of peaceful familiarity—like coming home to a place you've never been before. The cottage greets you with a charming sunroom, outfitted with a cozy conversation set—perfect for sipping a nightcap, sharing stories, or waiting patiently for your guests to arrive.

Step through the sunroom and into the heart of the home: a quaint, well-equipped kitchen that seems to hum with memories waiting to be made. Mornings start here with the smell of fresh coffee and pancakes on the stove, and evenings end with shared meals around the large dining table. Just beyond, the open-concept living and dining area boasts sweeping picture windows, offering one view of the forest and another of sparkling Eagle Lake.. The living room invites you to curl up on the sofa to read that new book or catch up on your favourite TV show.

Upstairs, you’ll find three bedrooms. The primary bedroom features a double bed and a view that stretches across Eagle Lake—an inspiring scene to wake up to. The second bedroom offers two twin beds that can be joined to make a king, and a charming built-in nook bed, fun for the oldest children in the family! The third room includes a twin trundle, ideal for kids or extra guests. The full four-piece bath upstairs makes family stays a breeze, especially with young ones.
Head downstairs to the walkout lower level, and you’ll discover a desk set perfectly in front of a picture window—an ideal workspace for those seeking a “work-from-cottage” retreat. The unlimited wifi makes this an easy location to work remotely. There’s also a handy two-piece powder room for convenience. Outside, your adventure continues down approximately 80 forested steps to the waterfront, where the lake awaits. A large dock, comfy Muskoka chairs, and plenty of water toys invite you to relax, splash, and savor lake life to the fullest. Midway, a firepit area beckons for s'mores, songs, and late-night laughter under the stars.

Please note that, according to the municipality’s bylaws, all dogs must be leashed or tethered on the property when outside. Dogs are not permitted to roam leash-free.
This cottage is in the Municipality of Dysart et al; Licence # STR-25-00215. The Municipal STR Licence restricts the cottage to maximum 6 people at any given time during your stay. The Municipality requires rental guests sign a Rental Guest Code of Conduct. It will be sent to you upon booking for electronic signature.
Linens are provided – please bring your own outdoor towels
Post departure cleaning is arranged immediately following your check out time. Please ensure the short pre-departure cleaning checklist is completed and you have fully checked out of the cottage by your departure time to avoid any additional cleaning fees.
The cottage TV has a Chromecast that will allow you to sign into any of the streaming services you personally subscribe to. Please note, these services will require your personal login information and are not provided.

Waterfront This cottage boasts an impressive 395’ of waterfront on Eagle Lake. Early in the season, higher water levels offer access down stone steps into about 4 feet of clear, swimmable water. By late season, water levels on the lake drop, revealing more shallow entry. The lake bottom is a mix of rock and silt, with very clear water and few to no weeds—great for swimming.
Sun Exposure Full sun until approximately 3:00 pm, with sunrise views
Boating Water depth off the dock varies from 3’ deep late in the summer to 8’ deep in early summer. Boats can typically be accommodated up to Labour Day, but generally it’s too shallow for boats to be docked in September and October.

Sir Sam’s Ski & Ride. Ski resort offering hiking trails, mountain biking, and a new lookout tower. (5 mins)
Eagle Lake Beach. Small beach with a boat launch, swim raft, children's playground, picnic shelter and portable washrooms. (5 mins)
Abbey Gardens. This former gravel pit has been transformed into a 300 acre site featuring local food shopping, interpretive trails, heritage breed displays, programming and event spaces, picnic areas, gardens and more! (15 mins)
Highlands Summer Festival. The Highlands Summer Festival is held each summer, from June to September, at the Northern Lights Performing Arts Pavilion, located in the High School in Haliburton. A variety of shows, plays, and musical performances are offered. (20 mins)
Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve. Visit a sustainably managed forest that’s open to the public (for a fee), with many kilometres of hiking and snowmobiling trails, a lumber museum, a world-renowned Wolf Centre, even take a Walk in the Clouds if you’re feeling adventurous! (25 mins)
