Great hotel

Lovely hotel in a great location for getting in to the city centre and close to great bus underground and train stations. The hotel was lovely and clean with friendly helpful staff. We had a nice clean room with the added bonus of a well equipped kitchenette.

Nice hotel, not five star, more 3 to 4. Tiny towels, one day we were not given towels and didn’t realise till very late. No bar or restaurant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in room 406. Very quiet. Great view of the cathedral. Close to the subway, supermarket, and an easy 20 minute walk to Konigsallee for fancy people watching. The room was generous, well maintained and had a lovely modern aesthetic. It was very clean. The small kitchenette would be perfect if you had a week of work and wanted to eat in. But the breakfast is so generous that I would always add that to my stay. The breakfast was a pleasure every morning to enjoy fresh delicious food, good coffee and pleasant ambience. And also the beer and bottled water in the mini fridge each day put a smile on your face. We will definitely return on our next trip to Dusseldorf.

Good location, but the neighborhood isn’t the prettiest. Breakfast very good. Hospitality of the staff good. Interior of the room was a little out dated. Our main issue was with the smell in the room. It was like sleeping in an ashtray. The smell of cigarettes was everywhere. It was so penetrating that we won’t return to this hotel anymore.

A nice, clean hotel, nice rooms and good breakfast. I have two red flags: I was visiting Dusseldorf for a trade fair. It seems that this hotel's rates were vastly elevated vs their normal rates - 6 times more expensive vs the same days this week, for example, and I booked well in advance. I had made my peace that prices might be higher in general, but this seems like pretty blatant profiteering. I forgot my adapter so, very helpfully, was able to borrow a phone charger from the front desk. However at 10.20pm on my second night I was called by the front desk and asked to return the charger immediately. Probably a first in all my travelling.

Das Hotel liegt auch für eine Tagung an der Universität Ddf. günstig, da man mit der Stadtbahn umsteigefrei dorthin fahren kann. Die Business-Zimmer sind hinreichend groß, und daß sie auch eine Mikro-Küche enthalten, die einem eine partielle Selbstverpflegung erlauben würde, ist ein Plus. Derzeit finden allerdings in unmittelbarer Nähe Straßenbauarbeiten statt, deren spätestens um 7 Uhr einsetzenden starken Lärm auch die Schallschutzfenster nicht abzufedern vermögen. Ein nächtlicher Feueralarm entpuppte sich als Folge eines durch einen Starkregen ausgelösten Kurzschlusses - für die dadurch erfolgte Unterbrechung des Schlafs hätte man sich ein Wort oder eine Geste der Entschuldigung des Managements gewünscht - wie es überhaupt angesichts der Freundlichkeit und erkennbar großen Serviceorientierung des Personals (auch beim sehr guten Frühstück) etwas irritierend war, daß man erst ab punkt 15 Uhr einchecken darf und daß die Hotel-Software offenbar die vom Geschäftsreisenden erbetene Korrektur einer Rechnung, die aufgrund eines hotelseitigen Fehlers unzutreffende Angaben zu Zimmer und Abreisetag (der erst der 11.9. war) enthielt, nicht zuläßt. Zum Parken empfiehlt sich das komfortable (allerdings sehr teure) Parkhaus am nahegelegenen Kirchplatz, da die Hotelgarage nur für Fahrzeuge bis 1,80 m Höhe geeignet und überdies sehr eng ist.

There is a lot of road construction around the hotel which means that I heard every sound all morning. That also meant that it took me 45 mins to find the parking of the hotel, when I booked I received a message that access to the parking is free due to road construction. Apparently the hotel meant that you can still use the parking, however the wording sounded like they meant its free as in no fee. Anyway, I discussed this with the staff and the guy who handled my complaint was extremely rude and even made a joke about me not wanting to pay the fee. He told me I had to call Expedia but Expedia told me I had to discuss it with the hotel which meant nobody helped. The whole visit he just gave dirty looks, no hello no nothing. Not very 4 star hotel service of him. My bedsheets had hairs on them and the whole room was extremely dusty as if it was an unused or just unclean room. I literally saw dust flying when I put down my stuff. The sink had some very weird mold on it so I didn't drink water from it. Very noisy hotel and the parking is so small that every car had to try 3-5 times to get out. I can imagine that it's a decent hotel for a worktrip but the whole experience for our little sistertrip was a 3/10. Highly would NOT recommend. And in case the hotel will respond: a 4 star hotel should handle confusion calmy and with a certain amount of service. This guy was so rude that I also got rude because I honestly couldn't believe the audacity.
