Hotel charge room cleaning fee $50 because of cooking in a room with smell. There is a kitchen facility, suppose guest may cook. I cooked for dinner & open all the windows, I felt no smell in a room next day morning, however hotel charge cleaning fee. Hotel staff said there was a card plate shown (clearing fee $50-150) inside a cupboard, I didn’t find it. If this is hotel policy, why nobody tell me when I check in or that card plate should be put on table, so if you cook in a room, you may prepare min. cleaning fee. If I know it when I make room reservation, I don’t mind to pay.
Check out time is 10am, an impolite man knocked the door at 10:05 to chase me to check out, I checked out 10:15 finally. I had stayed Quest Hotel in Rotorua, Christchurch, Wellington & Auckland before, all they didn’t charge any cleaning fee because of smell. Bad experience in Dunedin. I will not recommend my friend to stay at Quest any more.
