"Spent a fabulous week here with my husband and two dogs. The lodge is lovely, warm and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and made it easy for me to self cater, as I’m someone who likes to cook from scratch. The grounds of the estate are immaculate and you’re free to wander. Location is great too, lots to see and do right on your doorstep, if you can tear yourself away from Orroland."

"An exremely well appointed hoiday property, off the beaten track, but still ideal for getting around Galloway. The area around the house was interesting in itself proving ideal for morning runs (for the keener visitor), walks down to the seashore or strolls around the grounds with pheasants, rabbits and squirrels (in ascending intelligence levels)! Bedrooms are very comforatable with great views and the large dining/kitchen is good for a family gathering. In terms of local sights we recommend Kirkcudbright as a town to while away a few hours and Threave Gardens are well worth a trip - the colours are just changing. A little further afield Caerlaverock Castle - both new and old versions are worthy of their castle status and finally for a great, but confortable hike we would recommend the walk around Loch Trool with its Alantic Rainforest and the atmospheric site (allegedly) of the Battle of Glentrool."

"We have just returned from a wonderful week away at Abbotsway Cottage. Orroland is truly magical, from the wildlife to the walks around the expansive grounds and the beach, it really felt like we were away from it all. Really didn’t want to leave. The cottage itself is perfect, fully equipped with everything you might need and was spotless. We will look to return again soon."
