Castle hotel
Lovely staff and lovely building - just a bit tired in places and quite noisy - some sort of extractor fan running till midnight then starting 6 in morning
Great location and nothing too much trouble by staff but probably wouldn’t stay again due to noise

I love this hotel. It is quirky and old, but well maintained. The signage was improved this time, and I was able to find my room easily. On a previous stay this was not the case, and I wandered around a bit. My room faced an alley and it got quite noisy, especially early in the morning. The radiator and towel warmer appeared to have leaked a bit, but worked well. The staff are just lovely, always helpful.
Our stay couldn’t have been better. The room, the breakfasts, the dining and the location were all first rate. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Definitely 5 stars.
The hotel was delightful and very historic. In a great location within walking distance of many sites. Most importantly the staff was Top Notch and very accommodating with great attention to detail. They enjoyed their work and each other which was quite evident, and because of that they provided excellent service. I would recommend anyone to go there; The Price is Right and a great variety of breakfasts are included
The Castle Hotel is located in walking distance of many restaurants and tourist areas, but the parking is very difficult if you aren’t accustomed to narrow and small parking areas. The hotel itself is not very updated and the room we stayed in had an awkward configuration. Luckily, we were there for one night, so it was manageable. The staff are very friendly.
Very conveniently situated for Croke Park. My room was fine. The bed was comfortable but I don’t like synthetic pillows. Nice shower room that looked newly fitted. As it is an old hotel everything creaks and the walls are thin so noise was a bit of a problem. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Overall a good stay.
This is a nice hotel close to a lot of Dublin attractions. It seems to be a bunch of buildings that have been renovated to connect, so there are multiple elevators and staircases, and some rooms can only be accessed using stairs. We thought this added to the charm. Rooms are small, and with the windows open it was a bit noisy. Mattresses were thin and not comfortable. But overall we enjoyed our stay because of the great location, good breakfast, and friendly staff.

Disappointed ☹️. Not a 4 Star hotel. Comfortable but Tired. Staff Excellent & Kind, just not what I expected Room-wise.
Tight shower with moldy grout.
Curtains torn & 70’s furnishing.
Room is very comfortable and clean. Very noisy outside at all hours. No ability to provide any air circulation on warm days. Insufficient towels provided: two beds but one set of towels. Excellent restaurant in basement. Excellent breakfast. Courteous staff. Excellent location: close to heart of downtown, train station and Trinity college. I would return next trip for sure.
It was near Croke Park as we had booked for Gareth Brooks concert.
We traveled by car and the hotel had been very honest with us prior to arrival by letting us know parking spaces were limited so we booked a city centre car park as backup.
We were very fortunate to get a parking space at rear of hotel.
Staff are very friendly and efficient.
Rooms were spotless as well as the bathroom and shower.
More of a character hotel and could hear ones in the room next door to us but didn’t bother
us as only staying a night.
In a good area of Dublin for Croke Park and also near enough to walk to city centre and Grafton Street

The door to the room wasn’t a good fit and the light and noise from the hallway came through. The service in the vault restaurant was poor and overly expensive
Went during June/July so windows needed to be open to circulate the air. Unfortunately, it was very loud due to seagulls, many buses and random people on the street during ALL hours of the night. Bring earplugs! Location was good and the hotel service people were nice. No shelves in shower to hold shower products. No wash cloths for showering. Due to loudness of birds and random people on the street during all hours, I won’t stay there again. If you aren’t a light sleeper like me, it is a nice quaint hotel in a optimal location.
This property had great staff and service. The breakfasts were wonderful and we felt well served each day. We also had friendly service that would answer all our questions. The bar/restaurant downstairs had live more traditional Irish music as well. Our o Lu downside was that room 132 did not have a tub of any sort. We had a stand up shower but it was just the tile on the floor and there was no boundary for the tub space so our floor was always wet and we had to lay out towels when we showered which was not helpful when we had three of us in the room and the floor was very wet each time. We also had the loudest seagulls outside our room so we had to run the fan all night so we didn’t hear them so loud. Otherwise the character of the property was great and we enjoyed our stay and we were very close to the city center and transportation to all things.
Excellent in all respects. A family run business that makes you feel welcome. A deceptively large hotel considering the picture of the front. It is made up of a number of Georgian town houses and has lovely period style furniture in the common areas.
There is a bar and restaurant on site (bar open late!) They have live music and Irish dancing on Friday and Saturday nights which was very enjoyable and the busy area of residence had a great sing song, a nice way to round off the evening.
If, like us you were attending a gig at Croke Park, it is 10-15 mins walk. For shopping, 5 minutes walk to the main areas and another 5 gets you to the river.
Rooms were clean and tidy, hairdryers supplied and daily cleaning.
Special mention to Jonathon who checked us in, good tips on where to eat etc and a pleasant dry sense of humour that I am sure some will not catch!
10/10 if we return to Dublin, we would actively seek this hotel out and only stay anywhere else if this one was fully booked!
I have seen a few comments about this not being suitable for people with mobility issues, but saw a number of people doing just fine. There are a couple of small slopes in hallways and a number of stairs, but there are 2 lifts also and the slopes are very gentle and short, so do not be put off!
We do alot of city breaks and if all properties were like this I would be happy.
PS - Great breakfast included, either hot or continental, or as asome people did....BOTH!
