The cabin was in excellent condition and well stocked with essentials. You only had to bring your own food, of course. Cooking equipment, toiletries, detergents, etc all provided. Communication with the owner was within minutes before and during our stay. An all around great experience.

The rustic nature of the cabin & property were marvelous. The walk around porch was comfortable & provided amazing views. Beauty, comfort, quiet, and everything you might want. You don't wish to miss this amazing place to stay!
I took my mom to Mt Airy to check out all the Andy Griffith history. We decided to stay in their cabin right outside of my airy and boy was it worth it!! This place was amazing. Definitely book with them!! We will be back!!
Hosts were great, only wish we could stay longer! Location to Mt Airy and other sites is fantastic, the cabin is cozy and just perfect for 2 ... Accomodations were awesome, everything you need to have a great stay. Bed was super soft and comfy and kitchen was totally capable of doing a full scale meal or whatever you want to prepare. We are looking forward to coming back soon when the leaves change. All in all a great place to stay.
Wonderful log cabin in great country location near Mount Airy, NC. Craftsmanship is stunning. Lots of do's and don't's in check-in notebook and around the cabin, so be sure to review all of them. Primary source of heat is cozy wood burning stove with plenty of split wood, so don't forget your fire starting skills. You may want to bring paper or cardboard and matches to help start the fire. Electric space heaters also available throughout the cabin. Lots of room to walk a dog. Nice stay!
Wow! We had such a wonderful experience in this beautiful and thoughtfully designed cabin. Our host was very quick to answer all of our questions before our arrival which made our arrival stress free and easy. We loved the personal touches around the cabin which made us feel like welcomed guests into a friend's home rather than just another booking for a rental property. The cabin had everything we needed for a comfortable stay including a tea kettle, coffee station, wine opener, fully stocked kitchen and even firewood ready to be used in the wood stove. The cabin was immaculately kept. Everything was very clean and easy to find. Even the light switches were labeled so you weren't left playing a guessing game. The view from the porch was very peaceful, a wonderful place to sit in the morning and relax. We will definitely stay again next time we are in the area! Thank you for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!
Such a wonderful, unique property...it was definitely an "experience" stay. Hand-built cabin...very authentic...well stocked and well furnished. Lots of extras provided by the host. Exactly as represented. Host was amazing...allowed early arrival on check-in date due to forecasted winter storm (snow)...great communication with host. Cabin was surrounded by mountains, wineries, pastures (cows, horses, even buffalo). Near 3 state parks and Mount Airy (i.e., Mayberry). Cabin pleasingly rustic but also offered 2 full bathrooms, modern kitchen, wi-fi, and a very efficient wood heater that kept the cabin warm and cozy despite cold temps. Nearly 1000 sq ft and a large back porch with an oversized swing. We LOVED the cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The cabin, location and host were all A. Can't say enough good things!!! Thanks, Heidi!
Loved the whole experience! Especially the sound of the rainfall on the roof and walking and listening to the sound of crickets and a beautiful voice singing from down the road! Loved it all
Cabin was great, nice and clean and very peaceful. Comfortable bed, nice bathrooms and a well equipped kitchen, even if the stove was a little temperamental. We had hoped to eat our meals on the large covered deck admiring the view. Unfortunately their was no table on the deck and no view as the trees started about 4 feet from the rail. The area is beautiful and we explored the nearby State Parks and strolled by the river. An abundance of vineyards were close by.

Such a beautiful and secluded cabin on a hill. Much needed reset from city life. Pond and small river or stream nearby. Owners onsite but out of sight were courteous and knowledgeable. Thank you very much for a memerable time in July.
Nice for a quick weekend getaway as we celebrated our anniversary!

We absolutely loved our time here. My wife is originally from Upstate NY and used to own a camp in the Adirondack Mountains. She misses it very much. So this place was perfect for her. I loved the solitude.
This is an awesome remote getaway if you're looking to relax and have some tranquility. It's a cozy cabin and it's so peaceful. The cabin has all you need for your stay and the wood stove more than heated the place even on a 20 degree night! The host was incredibly helpful and it made for a great stay!

The cabin was beautiful. Heidi did a great job decorating the cabin and all the amenities were first class. Great fully stocked kitchen, very cozy cabin, great deck, very private. A must stay. Within 10 minutes to Shelton Vineyards and many more wineries. If you like to hike, go to Stone Mountain State Park, 25 miles away. Great views!! My wife and I will be back soon!!

We were forced to leave early
I have rented through VRBO many times over the years, everything from small cabins to condos by the sea, and have been extremely satisfied with all of our vacation rentals. This is the first time I have felt compelled to write a negative review.
My husband and I rented the cabin listed above for a five day retreat. When we arrived, we were pleased with the countryside and the coziness and cleanliness of the cabin. We were excited to stay for a restful and relaxing time, while also exploring the surrounding areas in NC. We arrived in the afternoon, and after going into town for groceries, we came back to the cabin to have dinner and relax after a long days drive to get there. While sitting on the futon couch, I had a flea jump on me. The next morning while in the downstairs bathroom, several more fleas appeared. We went to Mount Airy to see the shops and drive around. The next day, we couldn’t sit anywhere downstairs or upstairs without having fleas jumping all over us. Four times I pulled out the vacuum and did upstairs and downstairs, but they just kept coming. At this point we contacted Mike, the caretaker and he said that they would flea bomb the house the next day. We were traveling, so we were going to be gone all day anyway. When we came back late afternoon, we saw no sign except a trunk that had been moved and the ac upstairs had been turned back on. No sign of a note, a flea bombing, or the smell of cleaner after you clean countertops etc. after using the flea bomb method ( having pets in the past, I’ve had to do this so I know what it takes). The fleas were still everywhere. This was unacceptable, and I questioned whether they did anything at all. Mike initially said that another renter two weeks ago had two pit bulls that had stayed there, so it could have been from them. But when we contacted them again about there still being fleas in the house, the wife contacted the daughter( owner) who said she would refund our money if we got out that night which we did. And then she wrote an outright lie which she posted to VRBO…her words below.
“Guests went hiking and were not happy with the insects that they brought in from outside. No such insects were in the cabin before their stay. They requested fogger, which was granted despite no fleas being found. They still claimed fleas after the fogger. They requested to cancel.”
We NEVER went hiking, never requested to cancel. We were reimbursed but disappointed by this experience.
The location and privacy of the cabin is fantastic. Clean as a pin and all the amenities and comforts of home. The porch and property are great places to relax, with morning coffee or drinks at night. There is plenty to do close by too. From visiting Mount Airyto finding parks to just about anything you would want to do.
It was 14 degrees outside but nice and warm inside. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. There were plenty of dishes to cook a nice Christmas dinner. It was nice having a bathroom upstairs and down. Property was quiet. Nice property to walk outside.
Loved the rustic nature of this well-appointed cabin! Setting was beautiful and we loved the firepit. Drive was a bit hard to locate (rocks which mark drive aren't as large as we thought) and drive a bit rugged but overall an excellent stay!
