Holiday Homes in Discovery Bay

"Clean room, staff weren’t very friendly at the restaurants except the hibachi place. Food was always slightly cold and waitresses had attitudes. Only nice staff was concierge. Hated how they allow people to hog sun loungers for hours without being present. People would wake up at 5am and place towels on the loungers and then not even use them until the afternoon. Beautiful resort but not a fan of the food, service or pool area "

"Had an amazing stay at RIU OCHO RIOS the rooms were clean staff friendly and the food was delicious. My only suggestion is that they have another area with snacks besides the grab N go. Something that incorporates local treats "

"The resort was not what it claimed to be. The rooms smelled of mold, the bedsheets were dirty, there was a huge hole in my wall. The pools closed at 6 and. The beach was closed. No where to swim in the ocean. No kayaks or snorkeling spots only one swim at bar that took forever to get a drink. The staff were rude except for the entertainment crew. The entertainment was not good. They were playing 70s music only had one event in the evening long lines to get into the buffet. The ceiling fell in the buffet while we were eating and they continued seating people we lost power and got stuck in an elevator. The whole experience was terrible. The food was not good. The buffet was always empty with not a lot of options. I do not recommend booking this property for your stay."

"With the possible exception of some places in Italy, I have NEVER been to such a child-friendly environment. The staff were incredible and made us feel like home. It was like staying in a Jamaican uncle's house on the beach. We will definitely go back!"
